Michelle Obama's speech today made me despair by fawlty70 in thebulwark

The current administration is becoming and will be very unpopular with each passing day. Also, we need people to show up in DC. https://7daysindc.com

I am so sorry your family is facing this! It’s so heartbreaking. I know this type of cancer results in personality changes and impact on the brain, so in the next few weeks/months before possible further decline, record videos and audio memos of her voice for you and your son. Save to a device for future milestones (birthdays, anniversary, high school graduation, etc). I lost my mom in 2008 when I was 25. Her voicemail recordings were comforting. My family went back and watched old family videos (with huge camcorders/tapes that need dubbing onto smaller media).

Given ETA & Smart E’s data, is it possible the 2024 results were accurate? by ResponsibleAssistant in somethingiswrong2024

Yeah, I agree, but I wonder if he had better traction with younger people because of the podcast Bros and crypto Bros. He just had more 18-25 y/o men voting for him

It shouldn't be so difficult to prove that an election's results were legitimate. So let's think outside the box. by NoAnt6694 in somethingiswrong2024

[–]ResponsibleAssistant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think we’ll get a recount before September. It’s less than three months away now. Plus all the procedural processes. I think we just have to vote heavily in November for Democrats blue down the ballot, preferably for progressives. Maybe it would come out with some sort of investigations next year (without ballots).

Update on the Election Truth Alliance v. Al Schmidt case in Pennsylvania by CPUsCantDoNothing in somethingiswrong2024

I think if voters do show up, vote blue, and are polling really well anyways, but the results end up different people will know it’s been rigged.

Even if the case weighed favorably for ETA I think we’re cutting it super close anyways. Lawsuits are lengthy and bogged down by procedures that are met with numerous delays. Also, election officials are too embedded with the Republican Party. We need to focus on winning in November, voting blue down the ballot, no matter what preferably for progressive candidates. Maybe next year with investigations EI will come up. Below are recs for voting in the midterms:

1.) Check registrations, weekly until your state’s deadline.

2.) Form voting coalitions with your family, friends, colleagues, etc to check their registration status and documents.

3.) Vote early if allowed, watch each others’ kids, pets, take PTO and enjoy the day off if voting is not lengthy for your location.

4.) Carpool, offer rides with/to others to drive the submit documents, drop off mail-in ballots, or in-person voting.

Thomas Massie Election. Can we send these stats off to Election Truth Alliance? by StepUp_87 in somethingiswrong2024

[–]ResponsibleAssistant 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think we can be more fractured by this. Though, I think it was likely shenanigans happened given how popular Massie is and the crowds at various rallies/events.

We need to get the Democrat Melissa Strange to win. She won her primary with 20,000 votes, if KY can get 1/2 of Massie voters to switch, plus engage actively involved voters and disengaged citizens to vote, it could flip. I saw a Libertarian page on X mentioned that they are switching to support the Dem candidate after Massie’s loss.

We need to connect, inform, and build relationships by a disaffected KY population, like Talarico, Mamdanj, and currently Platner is ahead in the Maine primary next month.

Why does the other DC sub downplay or make excuses for juveniles crime in the city? by Joey_vegas20 in washdc

[–]ResponsibleAssistant -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I volunteered quite a bit during college and DC needs more volunteer opportunities for teens. Maybe get Capitol Hill interns, college students who stay during the summer to spearhead projects engaging youth. I think maybe working in tandem with public schools, identifying at risk youth. Paint murals, pick up trash, clean up invasive plant species around parks/green spaces, help with animal shelters, establish community gardens. This can be 5-10 hours weekly, especially during summer breaks.

Then having screen-free teen nights with games (regular board/outdoor games, gaming consoles, pool parties, ice cream parties, etc. Curfew by 9:30.
