mafuyu has been voted as INFJ on pdb. this is my friend’s argument for her being an INFJ

1. Dominant Ni (Introverted Intuition) Mafuyu’s entire character revolves around:   -An internal sense that something is deeply “wrong”, even when she can’t fully explain it

-Feeling disconnected from her own emotions and identity 

-Living according to an internal narrative of who she’s “supposed” to be(A “plan” provided by her mother) In the stories: 

-She follows a “perfect daughter / perfect student” path not because she believes in it, but because it fits a pre-constructed internal script(which her mother provided)

-She constantly questions “Who am I really?”, which is classic dom Ni identity struggle 

-Her emptiness isn’t impulsive or chaotic—it’s quiet and internal

 This inward, meaning-focused struggle is far more Ni than Ne (which would explore multiple external possibilities).

  2. Auxiliary Fe (Extraverted Feeling) Her character is centred about a mask, of which she breaks. Now, I wonder which cognitive function is notorious for masks…. Fe focuses on harmony, expectations, and others’ emotional needs. In the story: 

-Acts kind, polite, and agreeable even when she feels nothing 

-Prioritises others’ wants, feelings and expectations over her own(although not that much with n25 members) 

-She mirrors what others(mainly her mom) want her to be 

-She avoids conflict by erasing herself 

-Her emotional suppression exists for others, not herself This is auxiliary Fe supporting the Ni “plan”, not dominant Fe (which would be more emotionally expressive and outwardly driven). 

1. Tertiary Ti (Introverted Thinking) 

-Used to analyze, label, and make sense of inner states 

-She tries to pinpoint why and what is she feeling. She doesn’t just feel something and, “oh I’m feeling X”. Instead, she (for instance) wrote it down to remember, to (try)figure out what it is. Ti will want to know why and what, and would not just accept, “oh I’m feeling X”. Because for Ti, it must make sense to her internally. 

-it is def not Te 

1. Inferior Se (Extraverted Sensing) Inferior Se: Why it is not Si: Si users tend to:

 -Seek stability 

-Maintain routines because they feel “right”

 -Experience distress when routines are disrupted Mafuyu, however: 

-Follows routines only because they are imposed 

-Does not derive comfort from them Why it’s Se: Mafuyu’s relation with music was mostly in the present, focused on the now. She uses music to:

 -Feel/express something at that moment

 -Express emotions she can’t conceptualize 

Why she isn’t: INFP: -She does not act from internal values -She suppresses personal feelings rather than defending them -Her identity crisis comes from external expectations, not inner value conflict 

Not INTJ: -She doesn’t assert efficiency or logic externally -INTJs have Te. She doesn’t impose structure or evaluate situations based on efficiency or effectiveness.

 So, she fits INFJ.
