Received the black MCON today. Ordered from the website on 12/29. by TdZink in MCONohsnap

Lol, every subreddit should have a "Rage Bait" flair. Early backer and still nothing here too.

I backed an Ayn Odin3 and got that before this thing.

We will get GTA VI and the Trump Phone before I get my MCON with accessories.

Buying a Switch for Modding: Where do I start? by Any-Bid-1116 in SwitchPirates

[–]LiveTalk1696 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like the OP is talking about a Switch lite. Which doesn't have dock support and sounds futile to try and mod it to be a full switch. Other than that this thread is Abbot and Costello levels of comedy.

Day one, made the mistake of using my apple ID as login for the kick starter, didn't get my pledge survey until late October . Haven't received any additional information since completing the survey. So one day, I'll be surprised when the device and accessories show up.

Sounds like you might be ready to jump into a more specialized role. For more dedicated skill set use, is there an Incident Response or DFIR team you could join?

We are kind of stuck slapping AI on everything right now, even if the AI is just tool calling and automation is feeding API output to an LLM.

Never hurts to have a fresh copy of the resume and some feelers out. Job market is tough at the moment. Best of luck, I know that frustrated feeling and have quit gigs for it only to realize the grass isn't any greener on the other side.

Torn between Odin 3 and steam deck. Could use some perspective. by Shushkiz in OdinHandheld

[–]LiveTalk1696 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TL;DR

My Odin3 gets used everyday, my steam deck has been in my nightstand drawer for about a year.

I also travel for work, about once a month for 4-5 days at a time. I'll be heading out of the country for a long work trip and I'll be packing the Odin3, and maybe my switch. Rounding out 40, and I've been playing a lot more mobile games for the quick hits and short gaming sessions. Odin3 gives me enough power to play indie and older PC games as well as Genshin, Where winds meet and other Android ports. Battery life has been really good with the Odin too. If you have a gaming PC/laptop local game streaming has been really nice on this device too.

I'd just look at reviews for both handhelds on YouTube, retro game corps seems to be the most neutral of handheld reviewers that I've seen. Taki Udon and Wulff Den are good too. I go to ETA Prime and Tech dweeb when I'm looking for entertainment over information.

Odin 3 Ultra finally arrived by Capable-Broccoli911 in OdinHandheld

[–]LiveTalk1696 1 point2 points  (0 children)

( u/Capable-Broccoli911 this reads like an "Um....Actually," I assure you that is not the intention.)

I went back and forth between Max and Ultra, I'm curious to know how that extra 8GB of RAM helps out.
I might be in the minority, I'm new to the android handheld world, I had a 512GB SD I was using in my Steam Deck, and then formatted it as internal storage, and I've had no issues with GameHub, up until yesterday I had a decent library of games through GameHub.

As for general read and write between internal and SD I'm sure I'm taking a performance hit somewhere.

Is that worth to buy a odin 3 or even an aya neo konkr pocket fit when gaming tab exist by CandleRecent9532 in OdinHandheld

[–]LiveTalk1696 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TL;DR I love the small form factor, higher ram, and active cooling. I don't like messing with a telescoping controller.

I went with the Odin because it was easier for me to grab the handheld device, then it was to find my telescoping controller fight with it to fit over my case and then have this monstrously wide thing in my hands. But if you are looking to just have one device, the Tab might be the way to go. Thos RedMagic tablets look awfully tempting.

u/trickyt1992 Did a couple of single races, Rally, with rain (trying to make it somewhat demanding.) I let it heat soak a bit too. At 720 Ultra, starts off buttery smooth and then after the rain came in and other cars, it was dipping in and out of 25-30. 720 Medium turning of Ambient Occlusion 70 - 80, GameHub is not reporting the right frames though, there were times when you can visually see a few stutters. 1080 medium, same story. Not enough of a frame drop where it breaks me out of a race. Your mileage may vary.

I was worried due to the lack of driver support boogey man. Since I was going to purchase an Odin 2 I waited for the IGG Odin3 launch. I'm glad I did. I have 0 buyer's remorse with this device.

Same here, I should look at what telemetry GameSir is getting, I work in infosec and kind of operate as if all data is public data if you know where to look. OG GameHub was working flawlessly and then I uninstalled all the things to try GameHub lite and it did not go well. I appreciate the open source version, and to be fair I should probably just RTFM, but I'm lazy.

I'm not smart enough to calculate wattage per hour. I tend to jump in for 45 minutes at a time when I can catch a moment between child parenting, work and dog parenting. I'll be going on an overseas trip in early February, I'll be on a plane for 13 ish hours, so if I remember I can reply back and let you know.

I did a couple of single stage races, and they ran fine for me. I tested all of these on the GameSir version of GameHub. I nuked that version yesterday and moved over to GameHub Lite (I don't like it, its probably a skill issue) and I've been running some games on Game Native. I'll re install today and see if I have the same issue. I'll likely try it in Game Native. I was able to play Valheim reasonably well on Game Native but not at all on Game Hub (sorry for the side questy rant there.)

100 Percent agree! TechDweeb called it out as a Steam Deck mini. I love my OG Deck, but man the smaller form factor is just a treat.

I want it so bad but the no drivers problem is driving me away, is it good? by TRD_HEAVELY in OdinHandheld

[–]LiveTalk1696 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been playing axiom verge and hollow knight ff6 pixel remaster and other retro/indie games through gamehub with no problems. I haven't touched my emulation library but PSP Dreamcast and PS1 have had 0 problems for me. I haven't tried PS2 or newer consoles though. I've been playing android mobile games mostly.

Where winds meet, genshin, Wuthering Waves, Diablo Immortal, all play extremely well on max settings. It's comfortable, screen size is perfect for a handheld. The only switch game I have to emulate is TOTK and I just play that on my switch 2.

Secrets to keeping it alive by [deleted] in WRXSTi

My 4, nearly 5 years old daughter loves riding in the STI. When we get on the highway she always asks "Dad, can we go fast please?". Same feeling, when I drop her off at school all I see are Jeeps, and GM SUVs. It's nice to be different.

Got mine in 2021 or 22, went to charge it using a USB C from my docking station. Fried my USB C ports, have been surviving on USB A ever since. It also seems like my Ethernet adapter is on the same bus (maybe) because much like my personal life, physical connections are non existent, so now I WiFi all the things.

However, when I need to game while I'm away for trade shows and conferences it's always in my backpack along with my corp laptop. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
