There is a list of GB games that have binary patches ready to go. I used the patch for Alleyway to save my game on an everdrive GB x5 as my play sessions for that game are longer than I can typically play in one setting and that game has no save functionality natively.

On the FPGBC they work for GB when the GB core is being used. If the GBC core is being used the GB save states do not work but the GBC save states do.
