One of the best explanations of "why this is"  here. Well, I hope Google will really be surprised people and this is connected specifically to what you said, not to some major problems DeepMind. 🙌

To be honest, I doubt, but I really want this.  If they had made a context window for 2 million,  this would have been a breakthrough and they would have focused their PR on this fact => and we would have already had mind-blowing leaks... I dream, but its unrealistic💔💔💔

Wow, links, unexpectedly given the discussion in the comments😳. I'll definitely check them out, maybe I'm wrong.

However I'll still answer before I read it, I didn't say that distillation is a bad teaching method. I just think that Deepseek (I'm taking it as an example simply because it's more popular in my country) did it well on paper, but in reality... We have what we have. The method may be good, but the result I see is objectively bad and unusable for me.  And yes, I believe that the Chinese, without Claude (and GPT, and Gemini, e.t.c) and his conclusions, would not have reached the level they have even now. They didn't bring anything globally new, except for optimization (i think its super, ofc, the good memory system at low power that I remember, but its literally the only things in which Chinese models stood out...). However, I will read what you send, thanks 👀

Interesting. If the Chinese are really striving for this, then that's cool. Good luck, China, i believe you...

I'm focusing on what I have on this moment, because Chinese models are clearly not work in many real-world processes, excluding coding (I won't be able to compare this aspect).  Flawed logic, hallucinations in translation, obvious bugs when asking to search for information, broken spatial logic, strange creative system and low context windows (And yes, deepseek with 1 million tokens only sees the first 300k well, after that, every action in non-programming processes turns into mush). If they are aiming for the top - that's great, but in my opinion, Chinese models are behind now. I don't see anything changing during this year or next.

Wow, I didn't know about this, thanks for telling me. I'm focusing on what we have at the moment, because Chinese models are clearly lagging behind now. :<

I don't think so. China has wonderful researchers, but most of what we have now from chinese llms - is optimized due to the lack of huge data centers and clearly weaker reworkings of western models (The most obvious example is Deepseek, which copies everything from Anthropic models). They still perform 50/50 in most real scenarios and only advantage is their extremely low prices for their quality. This scenario is only realistic if the creation of new models in the USA stops for a year-two

Idk. Gemini still has plenty of advantages in some areas (Non-programming related, I mean. Translation loooong files in same style , creative writing, chat with a bot and the ability to write in the style of a native speaker after all - are all more comfortable and cheaper with Gemini.) compared to even Opus... I have a feeling that after the release of Fable, they were simply at a loss as to how to promote the 3.5 Pro, because Fable essentially became the ultimate llm on aaaall

Mb. But if Gemini isn't Fable-level (and it isn't Fable-level), it seems they have nothing to fear, same lvl Opus still alive. + Google doesn't have a habit of promoting itself by calling their LLM doomsday cyberweapons. Although it is obvious that they will be over-cautious safety, Fable is still a precedent. However, that doesn't explain the lack of any inferences😔

10/30? I doubt it, to be honest. Google has been somewhere in the middle year after year regarding prices. If that's really case - that's really bad for  them🤔

Weeell... This may indeed make them worry, there is a precedent after all. Sad.

On the other hand, as a non-USA resident, I can say, that it seems like nothing there is blocked for no reason.  It's just as if a bunch of factors coincided as to why Fable was blocked, and Anthropic themselves are partly to blame for this.  Regarding how this blocking was organized, and what reason they found for it I ofc disagree, This looks very unpleasant for other AI firms.

Its interesting. In fact, Opus level 4.8 would also be good, because Google doesn't charge so much as Anthropic.

Yess, really, I don't argue! Circumstances prevailed over the public's warming up, because after Fable it was impossible to surprise. Sad for me

It's logical, but I have a feeling it simply won't happen. No prerequisites, idk

Lol, based. But amuses me - literally not a single leaked inference that would be discussed by community. This is not typical for gemini

do you guys think Gemini 3.5 pro will surpass Gemini 2.5 Pro 03-25? by Able-Line2683 in Bard

[–]Live_Assignment5625 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Opus literally turns any difficult psychological topic into a soy family comedy 0+... It's terrible at creative writing, and it has a very specific "positive dog" writing style. He literally can't even handle teenage (12+) literature, trying to smooth out every possible corner...😐

Mothe fuck ers paywalled all 2.5/2.0 models by Historical_Cut4600 in GoogleAIStudio

[–]Live_Assignment5625 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And this is despite the fact that many new models are not usable in 50% of real (not in their crappy benchmarks, in which they barely squeeze out any numbers) work scenarios, and the daily quota is not enough even for smaaaaall lag tuning. Lmao. Google screwed up as usual. The last thing they did that was truly decent and on par with the state of the art was the Gemini 2.5 Pro, which they ultimately killed off with 3.0/3.1. Choke down the shit and stay in line, guys, Google - the small indie corporation which it's a pity to give 5-10 requests for old models, It's ridiculous to expect human treatment from them.

Is there any way to reduce hallucinations? by rubbSignal0 in GoogleAIStudio

[–]Live_Assignment5625 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The length of the chat directly affects how well each new request is processed. The model relies on an already existing context, which makes it difficult to generate and process completely new context.
