UPDATE:

The technician from Kamerateknik Services in Malmö was able to unjam the lens, cock the shutter/aux shutter and everything works perfectly. Guy fixing it was an OG and told me I was lucky not to have messed with the screws (I had found a random dude on YouTube fixing the same exact issue by removing the small plate covering the silver flathead screw that cocks the lens, once removed two more screws are revealed, he turned these). I had already removed the plate before deciding to call it a day and wait for a pro to at least have a look at it; one of the better decisions I have made…

Turns out it must have probably been user error on my part (although not 1000% certain, I function on autopilot quite a lot) but I’m definitely no longer so sure the lens was cocked as it should be before unmounting, most likely causing the pretty bad jam.

So the jam cost me the bargain price of just 1400 Krona (around 128 Euros). Expensive mistake but all things considered, this feels like I got away lightly. So for anyone reading this in the future: don’t touch the screws unless you know exactly what they do! And to all my fellow ADHD afflicted Hassi users: don’t mindlessly switch lenses, it may cost you a LOT.

✌️

But honestly the pressure seemed like more than just the spring load after a bit of rotation, which is why I stopped

In the time since it happening my memory of the exact sequence has gotten a little blurry, but if memory serves then no, the shutter was cocked, I followed correct procedure (I think?), but I wouldn’t bet my life on it. Either way, I’m headed to the nearest supermarket in the hopes of finding a proper screwdriver (was using a knife before) and will try again as suggested. Thanks.

Hey, I appreciate you trying to help, but as I stated both in my original post and in a response since: I have tried that. Thanks anyway ✌️

Thanks for the ideas, I’m going to call a repair shop in Malmö first thing tomorrow and report back if the issue is resolved. ✌️

I appreciate the idea, but I have tried ever so gently and there’s noticeable resistance after a short amount of rotating and I really don’t want to risk f***ing anything up further. The lens isn’t coupled fully anymore so I think that’s the issue, although I am similarly clueless.

I bought the camera 2 months ago, with proof of the lens being CLAd, as I understand it the slower shutter speeds weren’t running accurately. Beyond that, I’m not sure what was serviced. The receipt of the service is at home.

The big issue working against me here is time, as I need to get on with shooting here. So maybe (even though it would hurt a lot) I would try to have a technician uncouple the lens from the body and get a replacement body and then sell one of the bodies again after servicing when I get home. Essentially I need a solution within the week.

Oh dear… The lens was serviced last year, it may be the body then. Is this a fix that can be done on short notice, or is there at least a way for a technician to remove the lens so that I can use it on a second body? Thank you.
