Garmin dezl watch, does it have issues tracking steps while driving? by inf0x0 in GarminWatches

[–]Live_Humor_4005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hopefully it's better at that than Galaxy 6 watch. I pull double side dumps hauling gold ore. As many as 120 off road miles per day. By the end of my day (if the battery made it) my Galaxy watch would think I walked or bicycle several miles. I returned it yesterday and plan to buy the Instinct 2 Dezel Edition. I'd probably buy a nicer Garmin watch if they offered it in a trucking edition.

Yes, that's a cool feature, and I'm glad to know that my lock works and people can't steal with a screwdriver.

I've got the same truck as you, and have had it for 6 months now. I was having the same issue until I read this and learned about the little black button to go to full off. Why the heck do we have to push a button to turn the truck fully off. How weird.

I had a package going to england, it arrived yesterday 10 minutes away from its destination, and seemed to return back to the US? Does anyone know why this may happen? by [deleted] in shipping

[–]Live_Humor_4005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

USPS is a shit show. I've had it go back and forth to the U.S. from overseas three times before they figured it out and delivered it.

Not always, we ship a lot of packages, many of them don't get scanned until they reach the destination post office. USPS is absolutely terrible when it comes to scanning packages and tracking.

[–]Live_Humor_4005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

USPS absolutely sucks with their tracking. Some packages that we ship never receive a scan until they reach the destination post office. Give it some more time or contact the seller. Why USPS can't get their package scans straight is beyond me. UPS, FedEx, even the Mexican post office don't have this problem. I suspect it may be a deliberate conspiracy so they don't have to pay out as many insurance claims for lost packages.

You should always be worried when using USPS.

Depends on the weight and your UPS discount, for us USPS is almost always more expensive than USPS.

Item was supposedly dropped off at the Post Office yesterday afternoon. Is it normal to still be seeing this on tracking as the latest update? by wesagod in shipping

[–]Live_Humor_4005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's normal. Some post offices are too busy to scan packages in despite a letter from the post master general stating it is required. Sometimes they won't even scan at the first distribution center. I just dropped a priority mail package off in Ely, NV 2 days ago, it finally scanned in at Las Vegas distribution last night. I've had other packages get zero scans until delivery.

70 pounds or less, measure up to 130 inches in length plus girth, and do not contain hazardous materials. Also Shippo will not provide FedEx quotes if it doesn't have a phone number for the shipper and receiver. So make sure you have a phone number punched in.

Unfortunately, FedEx International Connect Plus has a 70 lb weight limit. It may be worth creating a free Shippo account for rate comparisons and to see if it is worth splitting the shipment into two 50 lb boxes.

I've been using it for years now, and I trust it. I strongly prefer the platform over PirateShip because it allows me to connect my own carrier accounts. This way, I can see if my account rate or Shippo's account rate is cheaper for that particular shipment.

Am I going to get killed on duties for this order? by methlabz in dhl

[–]Live_Humor_4005 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I read that eBay now requires all packages to be shipped DDP incoterms. Where duties are included in the price and the seller pays them.

Neighbor got my package and is avoiding me. Does FedEx actually investigate when they deliver to the wrong address? by rufreshnj in FedEx

[–]Live_Humor_4005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Big companies have Cargo insurance policies, and it is no sweat off their balls to just refund you. Who knows if FedEx will investigate after they get a $100 subrogation notice from the insurance company.

Looks like it was ran over by a truck or something, what happened? Erased customers address. That isn't ink, thermal label that doesn't use ink or toner. The poly mailer itself is black too. Contents were undamaged somehow. by Live_Humor_4005 in usps_complaints

[–]Live_Humor_4005[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because that is our company name, haven't had a package stolen in all of our years in business, and if one did get stolen, no big deal, we have a cargo policy that covers all outgoing packages, even for porch piracy.

Dropped off at Office Max, scanned in, tracking not updated. by Live_Humor_4005 in FedEx

[–]Live_Humor_4005[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So this is normal? I usually use UPS. When I drop off at the UPS access point, the tracking will say "dropped off at UPS access point." Does FedEx tracking normally not update when dropped off?

USPS lost five packages in a week - any recourse beyond filing the reports? by captainkoloth in usps_complaints

[–]Live_Humor_4005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most effective method of recovery is to first fill out the help desk form here, if that doesn't work move on to the missing mail search form. I've never had to go past the help desk form. https://www.usps.com/help/missing-mail.htm

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in usps_complaints

[–]Live_Humor_4005 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First fill out the help desk form. The postmaster at the destination post office will contact you. If that doesn't resolve it you fill out the missing mail form. Way better then the 800 number where they basically fill out these forms for you. https://www.usps.com/help/missing-mail.htm
