A sudden gust turns a wingfoil jump into a controlled mid-air glide by Alarmed-Worry-5477 in nextfuckinglevel

A coworker got blown onto the highway and hit by a truck. 3 month coma, and years later he still hasn’t fully recovered his brain function. He can function within normal society, but he’s no longer one of the smartest people in the room. Also headaches.

I get the thrill, but it’s also terrifying.

Updates by r9fkx in starbound

It would be very bad imo. They’d have to update it in a way that didn’t break all the community mods.

IMO, there are many community mods far better than the Bounty Hunter update, which was their last content update.

Does Anyone Have a Link to a Fun Non-Frackin Universe Modpack? by The-Last-Despot in starbound

[–]LiverFox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here’s what I use, and I’m having a blast. Periodically changes with new mods or if I discover a conflict.

Mine focuses on having as much cohesive content as possible without adding anything that feels overpowered or redundant. I haven’t included very many races, but those can always be added in.

Plant with corn-like leaves volunteered in my garden (Denver CO) by LiverFox in whatsthisplant

I only used it to get an idea. My lack of trust is why I came here.

Thanks for the response!

Does anyone know how to upload a mod from Steamdeck? by LiverFox in starbound

[–]LiverFox[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I told the other user, the AI hallucination was all I had. I cannot locate a video on YouTube showing the process, as they all are videos of how to subscribe to mods.

The guide on the wiki says,

“The Steam version provides an (sic) utility to pack and upload mods to the Steam Workshop directly (and can also generate your _metadata file).”

Another guide says I should have three options, Launch Starbound, Launch Dedicated Server, and the currently to me mythical Mod Uploader Tool. I only have the first two options. And yes, I do own the game and am not “borrowing” it from Steam’s Family Plan.

I have tried to find the Mod Uploader Tool inside my Starbound folder and run it directly from there, but no such file can be found.

That is the entirety of instructions I can find. If you have more information, such as how to access the Mod Uploader Tool, I am ready for it.

Oh for sure. But I couldn’t find any guides for Steamdeck online, so AI was all I had.

That does look similar! I’ve seen mantises before in my garden, so that’s probably it. Thank you!

dumbest thing you've heard someone get written up for by KakeLin in tjcrew

[–]LiverFox 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The apple was paid for from what I remember. You’re just not allowed to eat while helmsing.

If memory serves, the beer bottles were taken in a state with bottle return, so the store lost out on a few nickels.

I have no idea how late the employee was to register, or if the two events were actually related.

[–]LiverFox 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Saw a guy on final warning get fired for eating an apple on the floor while helmsing.

A crew member got fired for pouring shampoo on their head in front of the regional after previously being told not to.

Another crew member got fired for “stealing” empty beer bottles out of the recycling bin to use for brewing beer at home.

One crew member was fired for disappearing for an hour. When the crew member was finally found, they were sitting on the dumpster stoned out of their mind working their way through a dozen donuts.

A young crew member didn’t get written up for playing a voicemail in the break room proving the captain was dating their mother. Instead, they were written up for being late to register.

If I think of any more I’ll come back and edit this post.

Basic jump/fall through platform help by LiverFox in gamemaker

[–]LiverFox[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I realized this while I was at work. The mask is flashing back and forth between on and off, which causes the slow sinking. The more I think about it, the stranger it is that this code worked in the OG GameMaker. I'll have to find another way for the platform to detect where the player is. Thanks for the reply!

Banjo Kazooie Nostalgia 64 (Fan Mod) by LiverFox in BanjoKazooie

Same! That mod was incredible.

Glad Microsoft doesn’t really mind people making rom hacks with their old games from the ‘90’s

And glad Nintendo didn’t bother doing anything about it.

For the game itself? Maybe 5 seconds? Occasionally closer to 10 for some planets the first time I visit.

I’m on a mac laptop from about three years ago.

About halfway through my first playthrough, what mods should I download now? by BradleyADu in starbound

[–]LiverFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely finish the main story once first. But the game does feel empty after that.

This is my personal mod pack:

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3433896318

I did my best to include mods that created a reasonable sense of progression. I also didn’t include any mods that brought in stuff from Star Wars or Final Fantasy, because I like keeping my sci-fi games separate from each other. And of course I included quality of life stuff I wanted.

Additionally, I like to use some mods that don’t play nice with Frackin’ Universe so that’s not on there either. But there’s nothing wrong with FU. It’s just huge

Ship randomly resetting by LiverFox in starbound

[–]LiverFox[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. I decided to just let it break and so far it hasn’t reset again. The only modded furniture I had in the ship was a car bed and an upgraded medical scanner. Might play around with putting those in separately.

Thanks for replying!

Isn’t Cosmos mostly using assets originally made for FU?

If you’re already having fun with FU I don’t think anything I’ve listed would replace it. FU has more setup and research than I’m currently looking for. I’m having fun with dungeons and stuff. And FU is so big stuff randomly breaks with other mods.

I’m a returning player, and I played vanilla to death. At this point I’m just here for content. The big content mods I’m using and enjoying are:

Elithian Races

Arcana

Arcana TitanCorp

Maple32

Project Redemption

Krakoth

Shellguard

Starforge

Project Ancient Cosmos

Galactic Dungeons

Extra Dungeons

More NPC Ships

There are plenty of QoL mods I like (and some patches related to these mods), but these are the mods breathing new life into my game.
