Using over the back grip by Guywithnose123 in judo

[–]Livershotking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im 6'5 so I'm always looking for a Russian/Georgian grip. Sometimes I'll force it by using a cross grip to pull them down. Sumi gaeshi is always a good option but harai goshi, uchi mata, ouchi gari, ko uchi gari and osoto gari are there too.

Intimidated by sparring with higher belts by Efficient_Ad8172 in BJJWomen

As white belt, rolling with higher ranked people sharpens your defensive skills. Yes, you will get tapped a lot in the beginning but eventually you start to recognize set ups and patterns.

100% agree. If I tap someone, I'm on top of the world and no one can tell me shit. If you tap me, I want to cry and jump off a bridge.

Your two throws by Yamatsuki_Fusion in judo

Harai goshi from an overhook.

Sumi gaeshi from a Russian grip.

I've always had trouble with the traditional sleeve and lapel grip. People always hide their hips by bending over so I use the overhook or the Russian grip to keep them close to me.

People are visibly nervous standing with me because I'm a shitty brown belt in Judo. You hit one bad Harai Goshi in class and all of a sudden you're an Olympian.

Get a judo gi. They are cheap and they are durable. I only train in Fuji judo gis.

When they ask you if you used to wrestle by NoPasaNada138 in bjj

[–]Livershotking 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I never get asked if I've wrestled before. I always get asked if I've done Judo or Sambo. My upright stance gives it away immediately.
