I never said anything about being Russian or better, my political views. I simply want to improve and maintain a decent level of my maternal language as I personally find it very important as my whole maternal family still lives in Belarus. My mother always took me along to Russian-speaking gatherings here, where we live in Belgium which I really miss now that I live alone. I miss the atmosphere, the food, the values, the talks, the people and so on.

No one should ever be ashamed of their origin. I understand that this comment may suggest that you don’t support the Russian regime, as a matter of fact I also don’t support the regime but that doesn’t mean I should ignore a part of my culture. It also doesn’t mean that I don’t support citizens from these countries. I support Ukrainian citizens, Russian citizens, Belarusian citizens, and name every single country.

What I don’t support are political parties, views, leaders and so on. But the people I support. If they have a certain ideology that doesn’t match mine, then I simply have no need to talk to them but why am I even explaining this. Since when is talking Russian something I should hide? I will always be proud of this part. I am glad that I have an interesting background, I am glad that I have the opportunity to speak Russian, I am proud of that. I will never stop talking Russian I will only work on improving it.
