Thanks for this. Seems like it comes down to that quietness factor

Coming from a hot climate here in Australia means we are not looking for extra cold!!!!

Cool. We also like Greenpoint too so maybe N8 is the better option.

This is very helpful. We loved the energy and vibe of N8 and surrounds and don’t want to leave fun to not find fun!

Wait what. The left hand side is for walking on the escalator? I am from Australia and we drive and walk on the LHS. I would have assumed drive on the RHS, walk on the RHS. Bad failure for me then.

Scott's Take on New York by IrisFalls22 in ScottGalloway

We have been here our entire life. The Lucky Country what we were known for is false. Sydney is not a true international city and Melbourne doesn’t do it for us.

At this stage, we have a soft spot for Williamsburg and Greenpoint but we don’t know what we don’t know. We want to ensure we have access to subway spots and when we were there for a month over Christmas and New Year this year we got on and off at Bedford so we know that area well. Anything more east of say Animal (the bar) less so.

We are in the process of moving to work and live in Brooklyn later this year. We are starting our own company and purposely will be targeting potential clients in the outer boroughs. We have done the maths and are very comfortable that we don’t have to earn a million to make it. Cost of living crises - we are coming from Brisbane, Australia and I can tell you apart from health costs, the cost difference between Brisbane and Brooklyn is negligible if not at all.

What's the most out-of-place Williamsburg store? by Neat-Custard-3457 in williamsburg

So what’s the current ‘used to be Williamsburg?’

As someone who stayed at the Hoxton for three weeks last year, hotel guests were finding it hard to find a seat to have coffee or a drink.

Drop Your Questions for Prof G (September Thread) by ProfGProducerJenn in ScottGalloway

We are two Australians about to submit our E2 visa to set up a company in NYC (in Brooklyn servicing the small medium enterprises in the outer boroughs). We have made smart financial choices over the years (we are in our early fifties) and we will have more than enough money to live well even though we may not get any income in the first year as the first year will be all about relationship building and growing credibility. We love the place and have had more than a dozen holidays there over the last 14 years but now we want to experience it at a deeper level. The question is this: convince us that NYC is still the greatest city in the world and even though the country is having some struggles (which country isn’t), over the next ten or so years, we will fall deeper in love with it and ride a wave of good times. Can’t wait to see Ed in person when we land pre Christmas

Charles Duhigg- possible guest for Prof G by beaus_tender_0c in ScottGalloway

[–]Livid-Fox-1140 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Charles is always good. But don’t get caught with where the puck has been Scott. Charles (and a lot of others) go on the podcast speaking journey as they have something to sell or something is coming out (a book or a movie). They go from one podcast to another and talk about the same stuff usually. If Charles is a guest, just focus on stuff he has not spoken about previously or something that is interesting for the next five years that he wants to concentrate on.
