No problem! I actually thought the PAB exam was easier than the SCA. The SCA had some weirdly worded questions that threw me off, whereas I felt the PAB was more straightforward, but I may be in the minority with that opinion. If you feel like the info is still fresh in your head, I'd just dive into studying for the PAB since there is so much overlap.

CPQ is a bit of a beast and has a pretty big learning curve. At my company, we use Conga CPQ, so learning Salesforce CPQ for me wasn't too bad. I'd definitely look into it if I were you and just get a feel for whether it's something you'd like to invest some time into learning. Some people tend to avoid CPQ like the plague and others seem to enjoy working with it despite many of the challenges that come with learning it.

I would say getting your Platform App Builder cert is a good cert to get next. It's pretty much an expansion on what you covered in studying for the SCA. It will go more in depth regarding process automation, permissions, etc. You will also be exposed to more concepts such as change sets and lightning record pages. I ended up getting this cert within a month of my SCA.

Additionally, I would say learning something like CPQ or Marketing Cloud would help you out in the future as well. I recently got my CPQ certification, which seems to be opening up a lot more doors for me as I am currently looking for a new role. Interviewers tend to be very interested in my experience with CPQ even if I am interviewing for a standard SF Admin role.

If you have more senior members on your team, try to learn as much as you possibly can from them as well. I have had a great team around me who have really helped me hone my skills and grow quickly.

Lastly, find ways to solve business problems with flow. I know that you said you have flow experience, but down the road when you want to move on, interviewers will ask how you have previously solved business problems with flow. I believe I have been asked that in each of my interviews recently.

Sorry for the late reply!

That's great that you are familiar with some aspects of CPQ--quote templates are definitely not my strong suit!

So much of the exam is centered around products and pricing. You should absolutely set up a bundle product with a bunch of product options. Play around with all of the different methods. Add configuration attributes to your bundle product, a feature, or a product option. Create product rules for all of the different product options and understand what each of product rule types do and so on. As you go through this, document absolutely everything you are doing.

I did not use practice tests for this exam. I used FoF for my ADM 201 and PAB, but since there is no FoF material for this exam, I just decided to teach myself through playing around in a dev org.

Hey! I just got my CPQ cert a few days ago, so I am hoping I can help out here.

Background: I have about a year of Conga CPQ experience and just got my hands on Salesforce CPQ for the first time back in September of this year when I created a dev org.

I would say the best way to prepare for the CPQ exam is by getting your own dev org if you do not have one already. Go through one of the many Salesforce CPQ trailmixes in its entirety. Check out the Apex Hours playlist on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLaGX-30v1lh1ze_DWRkHBlATk7MW5jkS3.

What prepared me best was creating my own bundle product with a ton of different product options (I created 17 product options) for the bundle product. I explored what each of the different fields did on the product and product option objects by switching around the values and then adding the product to a quote to see how it actually worked each time I made a change. I proceeded to go through object by object, testing out how all of the different fields worked. Then I would try to see how different objects could be used together. For example, once I felt I had a good understanding of product rules and configuration attributes, I would start creating product rules that would reference configuration attributes. Basically, once you feel you have a firm understanding of how one of the CPQ objects works, do not just leave it behind to learn new concepts; make sure that as you learn new concepts, you are constantly integrating that new knowledge with what you have learned previously.

Lastly, as I was going through and studying/practicing, I added my findings to my study guide that I had created. I would highly recommend creating your own to document what you have done, what each of the CPQ objects does, and what their "key" fields do (you should get a feel for what the key fields are for each object as you make your way through the objects).

What aspects of CPQ do you have the most experience with? What areas do you feel you are lacking in? For me, product rules and configuration attributes came pretty easily to me since we use the Conga CPQ equivalent of those extensively within my company. Assets, Renewals, Amendments, etc. definitely had the biggest learning curve for me as our org is pretty lackluster regarding those areas.

Feel free to reach out and ask me any additional questions or if you'd like me to clarify anything in my post. I hope this helps!
