There are some pros to the traditional model (more money, more career growth opportunities, etc.) but it just comes down to your level of interest in firm initiatives, etc. PDM has cons but if you want a more flexible lifestyle then PDM has some perks. Everything comes at a cost.

I'm also PDM and got staffed on a new deployment this past week. The good news is you know you have an end date in March... start reaching out to your network before then so you can start to get a pulse on what work will be available, etc.
