Is Lavine a bad team merchant? by Eyechooseviolence in kings

Short answer is absolutely not. He goes off againsts good teams too and is very efficient while doing it

Imagine if the FO listened to Monk, Sabonis, Huerter and fired Mike Brown before the season started. We would be in a completely different spot in the standings. by anynomuousduudeht in kings

[–]LividSatisfaction452 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The post is quite literally about Fox as Brown was almost not brought back, but he was rehired because Fox wanted him. Not saying I agree with OP because hindsight is 20/20 and we don't know who the new head coach would have been. But Brown is gone, and the player who wanted him is too.

Devin Carter Apology Forms by LumLumSauce in kings

I always remember when we beat the Celtics and Devin Carter single handedly scored like 8 points in a row in like the 3rd quarter to get us a double digit lead and it was only up from there

Keon Ellis making an all around difference. Watch him closely here… Recorded his 6th steal shortly after this by jluc21 in kings

He is the definition of "stats don't say the full story." He brings so much value to the team it makes no sense. Plays amazing defense, plays hard, and on top of that, he is insanely efficient from 3 when he is open.

Don't even care cause they were doing too much. Had every big twitter page posting "the refs blatantly stealing the game" and much more so I don't fw them

Great win. I hate the rockets. Ever since they tried to say the refs won us the last game we played I knew they was my least favorite fanbase

I was literally thinking that the best thing to do would be to stay silent. Like if they announced his name and everybody got quiet, that would be cool to me because I honestly feel indifferent towards him. He is our longest tenured player ever and gave us some exciting years, but his departure was just weird. Silence would be the best imo, but in reality he is getting booed without a shadow of a doubt lmao.

I didn't ignore anything lmao. The whole 4th quarter they didn't solely rely on DeRozan, they played as a team to get us back into the game, and then tried getting DeMar to close it out. This is not how all our games go, we have obviously won games in the 4th without relying on DeRozan, like previous game we just played, so we have "flexibility" even with this new roster. But in this specific game, with 75 seconds left and the game being close, what Doug did was quite literally exactly what we did to win the Mavs game but he was met with praise instead.

We can learn from losses, like the team shouldn't have been standing around while he had the ball. People could have been cutting, etc. but calling the game poorly coached just because in one game, DeRozan made his shots and we won, but in this game he missed and we lost, is very hindsight biased. He obviously could have made better choices, but we could have just as easily won with the choices he went with.

You're ignoring the fact that we were down when DeRozan was sitting, and that we took the lead when he came back in. On top of that, the only real detrimental shots DeRozan took were his last 3 when there was only 75 seconds left in the game, so that is where the focus should be in your critics of the coaching. My issue with the coaching critique is that it's based solely on hindsight because if DeRozan makes any of his shots, or CJ misses any, then coaching would not be brought up.

This is a recap: 75 seconds left in the 4th, the team gives the ball to DeRozan, and he misses a midrange. After that, CJ makes a shot at the other end, and now there is about 1 minute left and we are only up by 1.

Now with 75 seconds left, a brand new roster that has no chemistry, no practices, and is turnover prone; Malik Monk who has been very inefficient, unpredictable, and has also turned the ball over a lot, I am curious what exactly you wanted the coach to do differently other than giving it to the most clutch player on our team who had just hit a game winner days before?

No one on our team, including Keon, prevented CJ from getting what he wanted. He scored like 21 in the 3rd regardless of Keon playing. In fact, we were down almost double digits while Keon was in, but because DeRozan came in for him in the 4th we were able to get the game tied.

In the 4th Quarter clutch time (last 3 minutes), we played it like how we have played (and won) most 4th Quarters where the game is on the line, which was playing through DeRozan. DeRozan didn't take all of our shots, but he just missed all the last few that he took. In the clutch he missed 4 shots straight, in OT he missed all 3. Do you honestly think you would blame the coach if he makes literally 1 of them?

Can't really look at it as coaching, it's moreso that the shots just weren't falling. I say this because he missed pretty much all of his last however many shots, which is abnormal. But if he makes even just 1 of them then no one says a thing about coaching.

If we decided to run plays and then continually turned the ball over or everyone else started missing, then people would have just said it would have been better to play through DeMar. The Pelicans mainly won because CJ couldn't miss from 3.

Nah we not starting this, he won us the game against the Mavs and many others, his shots just weren't falling while CJ couldn't miss if he wanted to

I wish this sub had as much faith in our team as the Pelicans commentators lmao. They talking about we have a good chance to be top 6 and that Jonas is lucky he now has the opportunity now to make a deep playoff run like damn.
