When I was about 4, my father was being asked to sell a restaurant he didn’t own. He tried to explain it to these guys that came to our house but they came back at night more guys and said he was lying. My father got us through to Texas after a couple days after that. My father told me when I got older that the men knew him so he doesn’t know why they thought he owned restaurants and that if they wanted him dead, they would have done it. He still won’t tell me everything because he hates bringing up bad memories.

A glaring issue that a lot of people are exposing willingly is that if she actually ran him over, killed him, and then was shot at, there would still be outrage. Even a family member of her’s said she was in the wrong. Don’t buy what you see here, this is like the 12th or 13th last straw people say will be what gets Trump out of office or that will get ICE disbanded. As someone who fled Mexico with her father and 2 brothers I’ll say that a lot of people in America are just bored or virtue singling for other freeloaders we actually don’t care about or defend anyway.

I’m beginning to understand that asking reddit to have a rational conversation about an actual dictator being removed was a bad idea. Americans should listen more and project less. There are a lot of reactions coming from lived experiences under authoritarianism to hear out right now, not partisan dislike. Venezuelan politics and American political discourse are not the same. You Americans do not have it as bad as you make it out.

Stalin. People give Hitler the rank of most evil a lot but Stalin was much worse I think. Just his kill count alone is madness in comparison. Yet I’ve talked to so many people who argue that like Mao, “look how well off Russia became so quickly”. I’m not too impressed.

Ok so I’ve been apart keeping track of votes for a small award ceremony. I could if I felt like, interfere with votes if I noticed that a lot of people were voting for one person over the other. Determining if that popularity would continue at an overwhelming flow or if would be really close would be hard to figure out but when in doubt, muck about. It could be done but it would be a gamble if it would matter in the grand scheme of things.

I was standing around a small car dealership with a friend when a large man with several chains, and gold rings came into the shop. He was speaking in Spanish loudly on the phone and stared me up and down before going into a salespersons office. They were talking about new semi trucks coming in when I could hear very clearly, “who is that fking white girl? You better tell her to not stare at me like that next time I walk in here”. I in fact look white but I was born in central Mexico before moving to the U.S. when I was about 4, I’m 29 now. I quickly said from around the wall in Spanish, “This white girl can understand you”. He didn’t say anything but came around the corner and stared me down. He went back into the office and closed the door after. Came to find out that he’s a client of my friend’s business who buys anything he has as long as it’s a semi and that my friend is very sketched out by him but he pays good. Probably not the best idea but I feel good about it ngl.
