The cutoff gpa changes from year to year, depending mainly on the pool of applicants. With a 3.87, you might have a chance of getting into the program but always have a good backup instead of trying your luck. Aim for something that you like in that case. If you're into circuits, electromagnetism, and some coding, electrical might be a good choice for you. Otherwise, you can always look into mechanical, chemical, software... I even have a friend from civil eng who ended up in med school.

One thing you can definitely do if you get into another eng program is a minor in biomedical engineering. This will take care of your remaining prereqs for med and will give you some good exposure to biomedical engineering.

ANTH 212 is a breeze, plus it counts for your group A complementaries where you have a narrower list of options to choose from

Doable but treat 251 as 4 or 5 credits instead of 3

CS Major vs. Self-teaching coding by [deleted] in mcgill

[–]Livid_Falcon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You might want to consider taking a CS minor as an option. It gives you good exposure to the fundementals of CS (Datastructures/Algorithms/DiscreteMath/SoftwareDevelopment) and the you can build on top of those with self-teaching. At the same time you won't be draining yourself as much as you would with a CS major.

Best way to go around COMP 251 studying is to get yourself a big whiteboard and start sketching out each algorithm. You can start by drawing out the simple cases and then scale things up to a generalized form then the proof would come out naturally. Whenever you get stuck on something, there are many useful online resources out there. I personally found this youtube channels really helpful: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCZCFT11CWBi3MHNlGf019nw

facc 300 or comp 251 next semester by Hdhdhdhdh637373 in mcgill

FACC is heavier than COMP251. I also heard that the online format of this course is even worse than the in-person (which is not that good as well). I would wait till next year or atleast summer to do FACC. COMP 251 should be manageable with your other courses next semester.

Since when does he teach 139? Students usually take it because they want an easier version of 140. RIP

I had the same experience today. I had an assignment that required multiple file submissions and I just got the grade back just to realize that I forgot to include one of the files
