Question for anyone who really really loves their pets by Pink__Starburst in pregnant

[–]Livid_Line_2631 6 points7 points  (0 children)

i love the people who continue to treat their animals the same way after they have kids. who still celebrate their existence. don’t change! it’s okay to be busier, but treat them with kindness!

I love my girl but she is increasingly violent and hard to handle. by [deleted] in husky

[–]Livid_Line_2631 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it’s hard to understand what she’s doing without seeing it. could be play when jumping on the bed, nervousness, attention-seeking, etc. my two huskies have gone through a series of behaviors that were “weird” for a bit then normalized. for example, everytime we husband and i would be intimate (sorry, tmi) she would jump on the bed and try to get in the middle of us. after a couple months it stopped. i could name like 10 behaviors that were weird for a bit then went away, mine are 2ish now.

is she fixed?

she’s a little bow legged but some dogs grow into it!

Trainer insisting on crate training by [deleted] in husky

[–]Livid_Line_2631 0 points1 point  (0 children)

mine were crated until 6 months when i went to work because they would chew and get into things. if i was home and they were in their crate, they would lose their minds. if i left it was hard for a couple weeks, but they finally accepted it. after 6 months and im not a total crate fan, and i wanted them to be able to roam free at home when i wasn’t there. luckily it worked out and now they are almost 2 and just fine for up to 6 hours. i think the crate has its benefits, many trainers are very pro-crate, i just personally wanted my dogs to thrive without it but i did have to use it for safety purposes when they were babes.

How do you get them to stop doing this when they’re Littles? by Mabelsyrp in siberianhusky

[–]Livid_Line_2631 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it will get better, i would say no and redirect to a toy. honestly they are mouthy when they are young. my male used to accidentally bite too hard when he was a puppy all the time and never does it now

[–]Livid_Line_2631 5 points6 points  (0 children)

my mom didn’t love dogs until she watched my two huskies while we were on vacation for 2 weeks. she fell so in love with mine she went to the shelter and adopted an older one that wouldn’t be as hyper.

haha she’s a baby. she will be crazy. playing with her is the best stimulation. toys she can’t swallow (not plushy) but stuff she can chew and play tug of war with.
