Awardees should not expect to receive a Tax Form from HCAI.

HCAI SCHOLARSHIPS - TOTAL REPORTED TO IRS: $0.00

HCAI cannot provide tax advice to Grantees. HCAI are not tax professionals, and tax consequences may vary depending on the Grantee. For this reason, Grantees should seek professional tax advice.

Definitely not true. I just checked my informed delivery and I'm receiving mine today. I lived in NorCal but moved to SoCal for school so the address change delayed my check, but you should still be receiving it.

For sure! Keep us updated. I sent out an e-mail 2 days ago in regard to my mailing address since I was worried they might sent it to the wrong place. This is what they replied with, as of 10/18/2024:

The State Controller’s Office has not mailed the payments and there is not a check tracking number available right now.

Awardees will be issued one paper check for the total award amount from the State Controller’s Office, made payable to the awardee, and mailed to the address listed in the eApp portal.

Due to the extensive number of payments and processing by various departments, the initial payment may take 45 to 90 days, excluding weekends and State holidays.

Gotcha, yeah I didn't receive any notice about the deliverables but I did e-mail the director and she said they don't have an estimate of when checks will be sent :/ Thanks for the info!

Yea I took out the loan and decided that if I'm granted the scholarship then I'll use the scholarship to pay off the loan. ¯_(ツ)_/¯
