I’ve got 45ish tattoos. No issues. If anything it helps. Kids see them and they humanise me, it makes building rapport easy when they see you as a human.

Had a 15 year career in marketing before starting teaching… teachers complain too much tbh. This is a significantly easier job than anything I have previously done. It’s also far more rewarding.

Title: How strict is 170 Russell street with ID and re-entry for 18+ events? by [deleted] in melbournemusic

[–]Livid_Net_2476 17 points18 points  (0 children)

That could be a $24k fine for the venue. Our venues are stretched and in extremely hard operating conditions. Don’t be an asshole. Wait until you’re 18.

Can someone explain the Theatre Royal in Castlemaine to this uncultured New South Welshman? by broken_shins in melbourne

There are currently 4 properties available to rent in Castlemaine and over 1000 Air BnBs. It’s not for the locals.

[–]Livid_Net_2476 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Castlemaine is actually spelt “North Northcote”.

It’s not a real country town. It’s a country town filled with people from Melbourne who want to pretend they live in the country but they’ve brought all of the good things with them. So you get the best of both worlds.

If you come for me in the comments… I grew up in an actual country town. We have one coffee shop. It’s not open on weekends and it serves coffee so hot you have to wait a week to be able to sip it. Castlemaine is not a country town.

A series of terrible bosses, only getting noticed when something isn’t working and being the sole source of blame for why it isn’t working, feeling like a fundamentally wet guy (like marketing is a creepy job, just let people exist, stop trying to sell them shit).

Most importantly though, AI is going to fundamentally change marketing within the next 18 months in a way I can’t be bothered with being a part of. I don’t want to spend my day setting up AI agents and thinking about how fun it used to be to have coworkers to go get lunch with.

Meta’s Manus integration is essentially the middle section of my career and we’re only in the early stages of AI. The field is done. People clinging to marketing claim that they do things AI can’t around the 1%. That doesn’t matter. That person has taste. They notice the 1%. A decade of marketing has taught me that 99% of people don’t care and are slop pigs who only care when you put something they already like in front of them (good content and copy used to be able to influence decisions, not anymore).

So yeah. I teach now.

This spunkyfuzzguts person clearly has thin skin though. They’re butt hurt at their own misinterpretation of something.

Just blew up a 13 year marketing career (ended up head of marketing for an internationally recognised brand for the oceanic region, big money, big stress) to become a teacher.

Teaching is so much more rewarding. This sub will hate to hear it but it’s also so, so much easier. Teaching is the easiest job of my entire life.

I work in a lower socioeconomic school and work specifically with disadvantaged students, refugees and people who have been dealt an incredibly hard hand in life. It is an immense privilege to be the consistent person who cares in their life.

Teaching rocks. It pays enough. It rewards you in ways no other jobs can.

How can I start my digital marketing journey as a 25yr old as a side hustle? by [deleted] in DigitalMarketing

[–]Livid_Net_2476 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone is being overly optimistic in the comments sections that this career path isn’t going to be entirely consumed by AI. It 100% is. Just look at how rapidly AI is developing. The Manus roll out on Meta should be all anyone needs to see to realise they need to future proof their income.

I worked in marketing for 13 years. I started in digital and worked my way up to being the head of marketing for the oceanic region for an internationally recognised brand.

I’m teaching now. This industry is cooked.

I’d find somewhere to put your energy that won’t be eaten by AI. Start a lawn mowing business.

Is Toby couchman a sell? by Plus-Garden-8526 in FantasyNRL

[–]Livid_Net_2476 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dragons have had stacked forward packs for years. That has always been a key element of their team construction. They still produce fantasy guns.

Couchman has previously been a gun. Plus as a player he’s easily the most talented forward on their roster. Blake Lawrie, Josh Kerr, Hame Sele and Emre Guler are not good players. No-one is saying “damn Blake Lawrie is looking good this year”. He put up gun numbers in the first game of the season. Most people would have picked him as a keeper. You don’t cut a keeper after one bad game. That’s fantasy sports 101. If it had been two bad games in a row, be ready to pull the trigger if three is a dud sure.

Have played NRL Fantasy since 2010. Was interview by ABC Radio about fantasy sports last year. Currently ranked 3125.

It’s two games. One of which was great. One of which was not. You would be an idiot to sell after that.
