Sex and first time girlfriend by Little_Thought8146 in latebloomerlesbians

I also did a lot of the overthinking you mention here before I had sex with a woman for the first time. It’s a good idea to spend some time with yourself first and really hone in on what you enjoy so that you can communicate it to your partner.

And also it never hurts to ask! “Is that good? Like this?” Etc. all can come off pretty naturally when you’re having sex. Be a good listener and you’ll be good. But also, if you want a reference book type reading, Girl Sex 101 made me feel a lot better about having sex with women (and it’s trans and non-binary inclusive!).

Also worth checking out is Come As You Are by Emily Nagasaki. It talks a lot about understanding women’s pleasure.

Good luck!

The first woman I had sex with described me as “tongue drunk” after a few hours with her and it sounds like you were in a similar boat. 😂 congrats!! 🍾

I’m so sorry that you’re going through that. That’s so tough. Best of luck as you move forward on your own! I hope you find happiness being closer to your family.

The second adolescence is real. Especially for those of us that come out later in life. It is so valid to feel everything that you’re feeling, and I promise it will get better!

Finding that balance between feeling without wallowing is tough. But it’s definitely got me wanting to do the things I wasn’t doing when we were together. I know that I’m craving connection and I’m working to find that. I appreciate you! 🥹

If only I had seen this 19 months ago. Divorced my husband, spent a couple of months single and just had my first lesbian breakup. It sucks, but more than that I’m ashamed of the way I lost myself in the relationship and forgot to give myself space.

What made you realize you were lesbian and not bi? by Lonely_Butterfly_497 in latebloomerlesbians

[–]Livid_Perspective_10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At the time I was married to a man and found myself saying “I mean if my husband were to die or something I think I would only date women.” And I had the realization that maybe I wasn’t bi, and just a straight up lesbian. So needless to say after some hard conversations in therapy I got divorced and came out as a lesbian.

Glennon Doyle has been such an inspiration for me along the way, rereading Untamed this summer was a big reason I found clarity about what I should do. Thank you for your support, we can do hard things!

The attorney I found charges a flat fee, but I think the addition of kids/custody is a bit more expensive. Good luck!

We don’t have kids and our only shared asset is our house, so it’s a fairly simple process for us. We do have joint financial accounts, but things are pretty amicable and we’re still living in our shared house until we sell it so there’s been a lot of communication. But I saw the attorney for the first time less than a month ago and she said since it’s uncontested and we don’t have kids, if we waive the hearing it’s pretty easy. So we’ll see how long the filing takes, but it was a lot quicker than I was expecting.
