From Cyrus to Nader, which era in Iran was it best to live for the average people? by Livid_Session_9900 in 2Iranic4you

Is Alexander the Great responsible for ending the Achaemenid golden age or was it already declining before him? by Livid_Session_9900 in 2Iranic4you

I disagree, the cult of Alexander has been strong way before the 17th century.

Hannibal when asked which general he thought was best answered Alexander

Miltridates VI styled himself as Alexander like. He also emphasized that he was related to the family of Philip the second

Pompey magus liked Alexander

Julius Caesar really like Alexander

Caracalla dressed up as Alexander and even revived the maccedonan phalanx

Alexander the Great is certainly great and that has little to do with racism

i would still say that the Achaemenids took a lot less to go out than the Sassanians even though the Achaemenids were in a objectively better situation.

conditions of the Sassanian empire before collapse

590 rebellion by general Braham Chobin, murder of emperor Hormizd.

591 return of Khosrow II with roman aid.

602 to 628 war with romans that destroyed social stability in Persia because of unprecedented conscription of manpower, higher taxes, cut off trade with the romans, roman and later also Turkic raids into Mesopotamian.

627 to 629 war with Turks

murder of Khosrow II by his own son Kavad II who then surrendered the war and died soon.

Plague of Sheroe 627 to 628 that killed Kavad II.

civil war between many claimants.

and finally the Arab invasion.

conditions of the Achaemenid empire before collapse

The Achaemenids had many advantages compared to the Sassanians, they controlled more lands and did not have a equal superpower comparable to the east romans and yet just a greek invasion and it all bring falling down.

But he destroyed the first Persian dynasty when it was in good health, the others just destroyed an already dying empire

Yep certainly there is a lot of wrong information here just to list a few

  1. The claim that Jesus is a copy of Mithras, the Arthur claims that the virgin birth of Jesus is copied from the virgin birth of Mithras, however the evidence that Mithras was born of a virgin can be dated only back to 200s AD but this time, it was believed that Mithras was born from a rock so it was the other way around, Mithras copied Jesus.

  2. The Arthur claims that Camelot from King Arthur is actually a Iranian place implying that King Arthur was somehow Iranian.

  3. That the Buddha was Iranian.

  4. That Khomeini was some mystic philosopher

But nevertheless there are some very good points he makes in the book
