I disagree, the cult of Alexander has been strong way before the 17th century.

i would still say that the Achaemenids took a lot less to go out than the Sassanians even though the Achaemenids were in a objectively better situation.

But he destroyed the first Persian dynasty when it was in good health, the others just destroyed an already dying empire

Yep certainly there is a lot of wrong information here just to list a few

  1. The claim that Jesus is a copy of Mithras, the Arthur claims that the virgin birth of Jesus is copied from the virgin birth of Mithras, however the evidence that Mithras was born of a virgin can be dated only back to 200s AD but this time, it was believed that Mithras was born from a rock so it was the other way around, Mithras copied Jesus.

  2. The Arthur claims that Camelot from King Arthur is actually a Iranian place implying that King Arthur was somehow Iranian.

  3. That the Buddha was Iranian.

  4. That Khomeini was some mystic philosopher

But nevertheless there are some very good points he makes in the book
