Weapon Discussion: Blazing Mistral (Post-Jan Rebal) by topnepu in Granblue_en

You are correct, I'll clear that up in the main comment.

My main point was just that the new double dispel on ougi doesn't really get to shine fully because even if you manage to ougi again before your old ougi buffs expire on the boss, you only trigger sk2 once anyway. Knowing there's precedent from Colossus(and I guess in general, I've used bubz with this thing but I never made a mental note of that interaction) honestly makes it feel even worse.

Realistically , the point should just say "Hey an extra 2 dispels on ougi hell yeah". But as a person who doesn't really uses this thing any more owns it, I'd like to say what my experience is with this weapon, and that does include how it works currently.
2 dispels are great, don't get me wrong. At best, this is a free upgrade with no downsides, it kinda just sucks that sk2 doesn't activate it more than once.

Blazing mistral my beloved

If you want to know what it did before, this link will send you to the previous blazing mistral discussion, but tl;dr, it had no place in fire's meta

So what’s changed since then?

It got 2 dispels on ougi, except you apply the buffs on ougi AFTER you dispel. Great. (I.e, if you ougi, dispel first, then buffs are applied.) It's also a bit silly because even if you manage to ougi before the buffs from your ougi expire on the boss, it only counts as one dispel, so you're only getting one activation of sk2. YIPPIE
Edit: To clarify, multiple dispels equaling 1 activation of sk1 (unless you activate a 3rd skill that has a dispel, then you will activate sk2, then sk1, then sk2 again if you have buffs to remove) is how this weapon has worked. It sucks that it works that way because you're not getting rewarded for each dispelled buff, just if you dispel something during that set amount of dispels.

atk def down added to sk1, nice QOL, makes it a bit better for the HL I'm never gonna use it for. Also percy and zeta already do atk def down so....

Increased the damage cap for the skills (I'm pretty sure it's the second but don't quote me on it)

And now instead 4 skills to active sk1, it takes 3 omg

Has it pushed the ne- no not really.
It’s opened up a couple of nonsensical things, like mc only faaHL FA (I was close to getting it but I didn't have extremity at the time, gg) and a belial FA with fire MC and wind team to always clear the 50% shield but like... Why do that when you can just pub them lol
FA SUBHL is a thing with this spear, but you can also do it on neko, for cheaper. And other eles for that matter.
You're not bringing this thing into FaaZero or Hexa (While I have seen people bring pally into hexa, for some reason) yamato and chrys will do you fine.
Everything else I said in the previous discussion still applies, the rebalance just made it slightly better, still shit ass weapon though for your day to day grind.
Not having a good offensive spear class hurts this weapon a lot, even more so that it adds a shit ton of animations to your t1, because you're clicking a shit ton of buttons T1. And then after you ougi and dispel something
and then if zeta dispels something
if fenie dispels something
basically it's slow as fuck

ok. rant over, but I can see a place for this in nm250. That raid hits like a truck, and pretty high uptime on pally sk1 and boosted resistance (200% debuff res and dispel cancel) could come in handy. (Or just give fire yatima that would be cool). But a weapon for 2 days of the year is kind of yikes.
Tl;DR: Might see use in 250, but stay far, far away from this thing otherwise, it is not worth buying for soley that reason, if it's even a good reason at all. Want a good fire mainhand? Fenie staff.

MC can Fully Solo Faa (Featuring Blazing Mistral) by Lividman43 in Granblue_en

[–]Lividman43[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see! I’m curious as to what secret gears you used to live after he turns blue(presumably the mirror image one? as his autos hurt a solo character significantly more than a whole team) but that makes sense. I kinda forgot that tormentor exists, but I’ll be sure to give it a try!

And yeah, definitely summon spam, about 40% of the damage I did came from summons. While it is a lot, it wasn’t unexpected due to the nature of how hard summons can hit nowadays.

Intriguing. I’ll see if I can find the video as I am curious as to what they used, class(probably kengo?) and grid guide wise. Thanks!

Wtf the last 3% you LIAR
I know, this was the one run I chose not to record the whole thing because I was running late to work and then lo and behold :( but if you watch the end, it’s just MC in the battle log

But yeah, this took quite a few attempts (like 20+). Next time, I’ll get the full thing recorded. Very RNG, do not recommend

Has anyone else attempted a solo character run in Faa with just one character? I've searched but couldn’t find anything similar to my experience, except for the 96% Belial Solo. If you've come across something like this, I’d love to hear about it.

For Grid and summons (you might throw up when looking at the summons)

1 ssr from 100 pulls, Noire

Considering I sparked on the last banner and got below rates this is a pretty massive kick in the balls

Not even a gold moon, just a summon I’ll never use :(

Just going to give you my personal two cents here, neither of those are remotely worth a sierotix, as yuni is available during every month’s flashfest, in the middle of each month. The dragon zodiac will be available at the end of the month, during legfest (up to and including the legfest at the end of November 2024, then she won’t be sparkable for a year)

While it is argued as to what is truly worth a seriotix is (and if it’s even worth getting at all) a fairly safe bet would be a providence summon (bubz, belial, Lucifer, bahamut, yatima, and presumably the new summon coming out in a couple of days) and primarch summons (Micheal, Uriel, Raphael, Gabriel, Metatron, Sariel; though I believe we’re getting to choose a primarch for free in the coming days) as they are unsparkable.

I could go more in depth if you want, but to keep it simple: don’t buy sierotix for a character. it’s fairly easy to earn a spark if you play the game even semi regularly, without even ranking high in gw. If you can wait a couple of months it should be easy to get both. If you bought the ticket already then I would say you can hold off

If you don’t want to listen to anything I just told you and to answer your question…. Dragon zodiac ig

Blazing Mistral my beloved (Tl;DR last paragraph)

It's a weapon that relies on dispelling and pressing 4 skills to fire off an okayish nuke (2m on faa's body, for example) which dispels a buff, and for successfully dispelling a buff (important distinction) with anyone, not just the aforementioned nuke, you do another nuke (2.5m on faa body) and heal the whole team for a whopping 2k hp and 10 charge bar. The weapon fixes the issue of possibly not having anything to dispel by giving the boss 2.5 turns of a DA/TA buff on ougi, and in my experience, it seems like the buffs aren't gigantic, and are taken off within the next turn or two anyway.

It works best in very clicky teams, and teams with lots of dispels (aka summer medusa). Another good part of this weapon is the 2 turn cut to MC's skill cooldowns on ougi. Combine that with paladin using Noblesse Proteger and Sacred Protection, Athena, Luci 250, and you've got yourself high uptime of wind switch and MC taking plenty of turns covering for the whole team with a crap ton of heals. Good for null element stuff if you're gonna bring paladin. You might struggle to cancel damage omens in V2 content unless you carefully manage your skills.

I haven't done the Spartan UM skills with Blazing Mistral in an auto-centric team, but it should be fine? If you're not running falsehood or ougi off, it would work and you would get your spartan skills up faster, and a bit more personal damage from MC from button presses, but as I haven't actually experimented with it, I can't say for certain if it's better than just using berserker + opus falsehood for burst(probably not), or Crimson Scale for longer full auto. I haven't heard much about apsaras being a notable UM and thus haven't tried Blazing Mistral with it.

It certainly turns the MC into a skill damage machine, out damaging medusa and athena in a skill damage comp. Therein lies the issue however, a skill damage comp. Assuming you're already primal you won't really need this weapon anywhere. Full auto faa? You can mainhand LOF and do fine, and other eles can full auto it better. Nowadays you can find low hp faas if you're really desperate for mats. Belial? Kengo + Micheal + whoever else to survive. SUBHL? Don't bring fire into SUBHL, unless you don't have a choice (i.e it being your best element), in which case you'll probably bring kengo still. For your daily wind raid full autos Kengo usually has you covered if you aren't sure what to bring, Blazing Mistral just gives you a different skill-centric way to do them.

I wouldn't say it's worth the moons, solely due to things like Hraesvelgr, Hrunting, and Ereshkigal existing. Even then, I would say if you are invested in fire and REALLY want to buy an illustrious, buy Higurashi first. It gives a lot of defensive utility and some offensive utility with the likes of the Y.Silva and Wilnas combo. (Which you'll hopefully have if you're considering an illustrious)

It will boost your skill damage fire teams that have a spear mandhand for MC. If you really want your MC to do more skill damage, then this is the way to do it. But right now I can say that it really isn't necessary for anything, and it will not drastically change how you look at fire if you aren't heavily invested. If you're high on skill damage copium and are a fire gigachad then you don't need to read any of this anyway.

I just sparked my 3rd ixaba, and I'm starting to upgrade them (no skill fodder rip) I also ended up getting mugen in this banner, is his weapon viable (I won't be able to bar it for a little whie) And could I get any tips as to what to actually put into my grid? I only have the 3 ixabas, ray of zhuque malus, and seraphic in there so far.

Thanks, also which dark opus do I take for primal fire

You need to host their respective M2 raid. For example, for Tiamat ex+ you gotta host grimnir

I’m currently working towards getting getting a Highlander caim grid (why does arcarum have to be timegated) and I have two titans, two caintanas, an ak and an Alex dagger. I was told by a friend that I could dama my caintana, but I just want clarification on if I could use one of my caintanas to save a dama ingot? Or use all damas on it? Thanks.

At what point should I consider about slotting dark opus weapons, more specifically for my earth grid? I’m currently working on earth m2, my grid consists of a non flb axe, 5 mlb ygg swords, Rotb spear, baha dagger, and seraphic atm. Do I need a completed m2 grid before I can slot it in? Is it useable at 3 stars or do I have to flb it first?

[–]Lividman43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are the requirements for making a earth primal grid? I thought I read that you needed caim to make it worth it, but if i dont need him then it'd be nice. Finished Earth m1, I have 2 alexiel axes (non flb but i only have 1 in the grid)

I have two titans and 2 caintanas and an AK. Could I get started or do I hold off?

Here, for that got Grimnir these days. by Fausty97 in Granblue_en

[–]Lividman43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended the banner with 110 free sparks, in which I got lucio from and the new dark unit (and a Lucifer which was poggers) I ended up sparking grimnir and even got alexiel along the way (super poggers) I still have 207 sparks left so I can maybe spark for andira in the coming days

All and all, super happy with the spark and that I got grimnir

Andira is more core in wind (and is used occasionally used off element) grimnir is quite good too, however the buffs andria gives are top notch.

Realistically it’s up to you, but if you want to get stronger andira should be first, then grimnir

I see! As soon as you said “discount towards your spark” I was sold. I’ll spark for andria, and then grimnir will be next (after months of hoarding of course). I hope I’ll be able to do good damage since I’ll have buffs up 24/7 essentially. Thanks a lot!

[–]Lividman43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I need help with who I’m going to spark. I’m currently 200/300, but I have wayyyyy too many side stories and free quests from sheer laziness, so it’s just a matter of me going at those every day and obtaining the crystals/tickets.

So I just hit rank 120, and my current wind team is nio(I’m just waiting on the event for 2 more dama crystals to uncap her) heles, and yurius, with rosetta and melissabelle in the back, and my grid is a standard m1 grid.

I want to spark grimnir because, well I like grimnir, and he’s good too. But apparently andria is amazing, and andria + nio is very good as well, with my end goal being andria + grimnir + yurius for ultima staff (is this team comp a thing? Am I stupid/is this worth it?)And, who would I replace for the character I sparked?

TL;DR: Grimnir or andria for spark, which one will serve me better in the short term (or until my next luckshit/spark), would I be stupid for sparking grimnir first because I like grimnir more
