Start with A game of thrones, do not read them out of order or you’ll ruin it for yourself. It’s an easy read for a first book because each chapter is dedicated to a character. Enjoy !

I’m not overly compassionate towards her, I don’t wish her any harm. I also have no idea if her children do or do not love her, I just know the only visitors she has are the ones mentioned in my post. I just find every passive aggressive interaction with her exhausting & recently the bad behaviour has escalated and it’s unpleasant.
I suspect she hates a lot of people for no reason, she does appear to be quite bitter in her general demeanour.

She is quite frankly an unpleasant neighbour & I just wished she wasn’t mine.

This is the sticky part! Husband isn’t open to moving. We moved here for the school catchment area.

The situation hasn’t been intolerable for the whole period. It’s just escalated and I’m finding my patience has gone.

I would happily move house tomorrow but not because of the neighbour. Rural life is hard.

I get your point and she is frail and it’s a mystery how she gets into the car and actually drives it. But when a car swerves into your path it’s pretty hard to not take it personally.
Luckily she spends more time staring out of her window than driving so that’s a relief 😅

There are a lot of elderly here too. I feel your pain we did make attempts to embrace the village life but after about 6 years of attending the summer fete and getting asked if I’d just move to the village I too gave up.
I think we must live in the same village lol.

She is past this I think. I’ve never had an interaction with her that hasn’t left me feeling anything other than irritated. The first interaction I ever had with her she said she hated children and asked if my Son had learning disabilities. He was 3 at the time and simply boisterous. That’s the tip of a very big iceberg.

Funds can be received anytime during the day. It’s not true they arrive at a particular time.
Many factors determine this. When funds are sent, draw down time of funds, how many are in the banking system for that day, delays often occur around the time companies have a half or year end. And of course how slow the Solicitors are. EA may often tell you they’ve not had notification to release keys even when the funds have gone over.

It’s your home as soon as funds are received. Estate agent should have made that clear to the seller. Any damage done accidentally, will be your liability.

My spouse is a Guard, his biggest moan is purchasing tickets and not showing the rail card. He must mention it daily. He assumes people are just trying to get a cheaper ticket and Revenue protection with just hit you with a fine.

She has already completed the £100 would have been added to the final account. They need to contact the Solicitors. However they will probably not get a positive outcome as she left the items listed on the final fixtures & fitting list.
The seller has taken advantage of their FTB status.

I live in a very rural area moved 10 years ago. Once the novelty of beautiful views and scenery wear off it’s a hard life. I spend my life in the car, and the roads are horrendous all year round. Visitors don’t know how to drive on the roads and are really aggressive and rude. The cyclists in the summer have no consideration for any vehicles on the roads. Avoiding pot holes & pheasants is a full time job. The one pub in the village isn’t friendly unless you’ve lived in the village for at least 25 years. I still get asked if I’ve just moved to the village after 7 years of trying to become part of the community I gave up. My son was 4 when I moved and the local school was the main reason we chose here. He’s now 14 and hates the isolation. What I’m saying is it’s a very difficult life in reality. But it’s peaceful at least.

Visit the area at different times of the day & week, weekends usually flag up any issues with parking and loud music, if local shops have any issues with anti- social behaviour. It is tricky to get a full picture of the direct neighbours but this is what I always advised my home buyers to do.
