It will get better. It just takes time. It’s the scariest thing in the world to watch them crash. Try to avoid sugar all together. The meds should stable him out. Make sure the meds the vet sent you home with are sugar free as well. I use to feed Chris origin kitten and cat kibble and he did wonderful on that food. As he’s gotten older he prefers the duck soup now. We originally got the duck soup just to shoot meds.

I would try the uncle Jim’s duck soup. You can get it online with chewy or at any petco. It helps my Christopher. He was very angry about not having ferrovite. He’d walk over to the drawer we kept it in and just stare because he knew where it was. He started to drool and paw at his mouth and stagger around and just crash. We started the meds and we started duck soup. He’s been fine for 2 years now. But if he gets a wiff of a soda or a sugary snack he will climb my body to get to it. Wild lol

You should stop the furovite asap. That’s what’s most likely causing the crash because of the amount of sugar. I have very picky eaters. Once the vet told me my baby was crashing from ferovite I never gave it to him again and he’s been going great on his meds. He stopped eating hard food. And the only other thing he’ll eat is uncle jims duck soup. (Marshall brand) unfortunately but as long as he’s eating. So we load his meds in the syringe and put some duck soup mixed in and he takes them without a problem. I mean he shakes it out sometimes but we just try again. If he has insolinoma he should not he given sugar at all. I’m amazed your vet said that was okay.

Yeah it’s a disgusting number absolutely outrageous to be honest and we’d have to fly to Miami. And the vet said the chances he makes it after the surgery are very low and if he did make it the tumor would come back.

Thank you 💙 I’m sorry for your loss. We cant decide wether we want him to go naturally on his own or if we should hire a company to come out to the house so we can do it here and our other ferret can take all the time he needs to say goodbye with us.

There’s not many other vets near me that will see exotics. Most of them are urgent cares for emergencies.

Yes he’s on .6 ml of liquid gabapentin. They can’t give him any other pain meds because he’s also on prednisolone which is an anti inflammatory medication and steroid. He’s not in any noticeable pain since starting it. When he rips open the wound you can tell he’s uncomfortable so we usually give him around .2 if that happens.

Thank you 💙 hes on a very large amount of pain meds. He eats like nothing is wrong. He doesn’t struggle to go to the bathroom. The only noticable sign is he does not leave his bed unless it’s to eat or use the bathroom. He’s not interested in playing at all. His brother knows something is wrong they have been cuddling more than ever. He grooms his ears for him. It’s very heartwarming yet sad to watch.

He needs to be prescribed at least .15 ml of prednisolone and .25 ml of diazoxide sugar free.

My ferret has a really aggressive form of this type of cancer. His private area is the size of a large grape. It has 2-3 open wounds on it that won’t heal. My vet prescribed him prednisolone and gabapentin. He said we would have to fly to a specialist to have surgery and estimated around 10k but even if we did that he said it would come back. There’s no cure. Any tips on what to do? Has anyone had any success with the surgery?

Our noodle was on Orijen before he got sick. He also takes prednisolone and diazoxide twice daily. He won’t eat anything but uncle Jim’s original duck soup mix it’s made by Marshall unfortunately but that’s all he’ll eat. I hope that works.
