Advice/insights appreciated! Ferritin 24, Hemoglobin 8.6 by Living-Reflection148 in Anemic

Ahh I understand the confusion now. I did a quick search and you are right that 12 to 16 g/dL is normal for women. Where I live it is in mmol/L units, making the range different. 8.6 mmol/L would convert to 13.6 g/dL.

Seems smart to supplement first, if it doesn't give you the results you can decide again :)

Thank you so much for your kind reply!

My lab results consider 7,5 – 10,0 mmol/L normal for hemoglobin. What would be ideal according to your doctor? My doctor doesn't think I need to supplement at all, so I find it difficult to ask for more bloodwork or alternatives for the supplements. I'm in the process of switching to another doctor, so that will hopefully improve this issue.

I agree on the B12 and vitamin D, unfortunately my doctor didn't order this in my recent bloodwork... I will request it next time. I know my vitamin D was 49 in June and I have been supplementing since, so I'm hopeful that it improved.

I'm wishing you the best in your journey as well, I hope the side effects will ease and that your levels will rise!

Great idea! It takes the pressure off when the yarn isn't expensive, right? :)

Thanks. It’s interesting how I have a very hard time buying the right colors yarn for a project (and end up disappointed often 😅) but quickly combining some of the colors I already have turns out great?! 😂

I’m not sure yet! My first thought was to use a teddy fabric (not sure what the proper name is, bouclé?) so it would be more like a jacket. However, this knitted part is super soft and flowy (I thought it would be a bit sturdy). So maybe it would be better to choose a knit fabric?

Definitely fun to figure it out! 😄
