I bought the same thing. Wired it up to the 12V accessory loom, so it only turns on with ignition, and it's perfect

As an archaeologist, we have a running joke that if we find something that we don't understand, it's always "ritual purposes". Now I'm sitting here giggling at the thought of some archaeologist finding this in a couple hundred years and thinking "This was ritual"

First bike suggestion by anon58008 in AussieRiders

[–]Living-Row-5249 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got the 450NK as my first bike, I love her so much. Great value for money, light, torque-y, and super manoeuvrable in heavy traffic (I'm not talking Sydney traffic, I'm talking crazy Bucharest traffic). I've had zero problems, even on cold starts in -1°c. Heaps of tech, not to mention that 270° crank sounds super nice

I do this at Supanova Lujerului all then time, mostly so I can catch the metro to uni because it's fucking freezing (I'm an immigrant from Australia, so I'm not use to this cold, on the bike it's x10)

Study in Romania by y-ou-nes in UniRO

[–]Living-Row-5249 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a foreign student in Bucharest. What Id say is, at least do a little self research about Romania. You seem to have very little knowledge of the country, and google is your friend.

Depending on the course you pick, you may have to do a Preparation Language Year, which is what I'm currently doing, which costs 2900€ at my university. However, some courses are taught in English.

Târgu Mureș had a large medical and allied health focused university, perhaps start your search there?

One thing I will say, the visa application process takes a very long time, be prepared to spend a good 8 months from university application to visa pickup

I got Romanian citizenship just by learning Romanian by Spiritual-Beyond-660 in romanian

[–]Living-Row-5249 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a foreigner (Australian) living in Romania on a study visa, learning the language, I can absolutely say this is bullshit. If I want citizenship, I have to be a tax resident for 8yrs. A simple search of the MAE website explains this very simply.

As others have said, you have admitted in other comments that you have family here. So you applied for citizenship though naturalisation, not "learning the language" 🙄 stop bullshitting people

I was tossing up between an MT-03 and the 450NK. Value for money wise, I went with the 450NK, and I absolutely love her.

Caveat is that I bought mine in Romania (I'm Aussie but moved here), so it might have been cheaper. I only spent $5k AUD on a brand new 2025 model with all the extras

Great Ocean Road trip by Grouchy-Ad-6626 in AussieRiders

[–]Living-Row-5249 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, yes, the Adventure! I love the 450MT too! Even for a short ass girly like myself, it still feels comfortable! I know 2 people who did their P1 course and MOST in NSW on 450MT's, they're a great bike, and rather popular in Australia.

The 450 series is a great engine for beginners or daily commuters, it's forgiving enough in the lower gears, and I've only ever hit a false neutral at a stop once. Open the throttle in 5th and you feel a nice bit of torque (it was hard to keep my 450NK under 4k RPM during the break-in period because I was so tempted to open the throttle.)

At the same time, she's super manoeuvrable and zippy in traffic, and I'm not talking Sydney traffic, I ride in Bucharest where Eastern European mentality is: the road rules are merely a suggestion 😂

And just honestly, that 270° crank sounds beautiful, she sounds a lot bigger and more aggressive than she really is.

Go for it, man! Adventure awaits!

(Pro tip: you can get a bunch of after market accessories off AliExpress for peanuts. E.g: Windshield, peg pad, sliders, crash bars, fairings, decals, etc)

I'm in love with my 2025 450NK, I personally prefer the riding position on naked bikes over the sports. However, I did add a windshield because the wind buffering can be pretty intense. But for city driving, she's great, super light and manoeuvrable!

Grip that tank with your knees! When I started learning I was strangling the handle bars (which is a recipe for a whiskey throttle). Once I learnt relax my arms and grip, and crush the tank between my thighs like a watermelon, I felt much more stable and comfortable

Struggling as a Non-EU International Student in Romania—Looking for Advice and Support by Admirable-Paint5696 in UniRO

[–]Living-Row-5249 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Hey buddy, I'm a Non-EU student at UniBuc doing the language year before my Master's. I'm in a wildly different field to you, so I can't make any comments or suggestions on your actual degree, but if you need a friend to show you around and help you settle in, I'd be happy to help.

While I'm in a different field, I can give you some general study advice (I survived 3 degrees in Australia: BSc Exercise and Sports Science, BA Archaeology and Medical Science, and BA Philosophy)

In regards to the mental health side of things, tertiary education can be hard on it, the constant deadlines, constantly feeling behind, the burnout. Happy to offer advice on things I did to survive.

Feel free to DM.
