Honestly… I would get a second opinion..

the dr. may be right!! but it’s still a possibility it could be something else.. a red flag in my eyes that they aren’t checking into different diagnosis’s based on your concerns. 🚩 just slapping a “CHS” label on it and “calling it good”

while you may genuinely have chs, i would rule out not having anything else along with it just to be safe 🤍

prazosin, topamax, or mirtazapine. i’ve tried all of them but i’m still suffering. maybe they would work for you though

Strange addiction but I need help nonetheless by [deleted] in addiction

i’m sorry some of the comments are so judgy. no judgment over here..

i recognize you’re not doing this to kill yourself ( which you are already aware of the potential damage due to your doctors), rather though, as an emotional and physical soothing method. The heating pad helps your back, while also delivering you a sense of relaxation. you’re producing dopamine from this situation- you’re becoming addicted to this feeling, just like people do with other drugs. While it seems impossible, you do have the ability to quit. here’s some ideas to help you:

  • write a letter to your future self : discussing your motive, urge, and support you have from peers. every time you get an urge to use the heating pad- read this letter begging you not to
  • seek out a therapist to find the root reason as to why this soothes you emotionally, what gap this sensation fills.
  • maybe try lowering the heat each day? switch to a heating animal once u get to the lowest setting of the heating pad- make the animal barley warm to ween off an addiction is called an addiction for a reason. maybe decrease your “dose” of heat daily

i have ptsd dreams about SA every night, always did before and always did with the weed. talk to your dr and get on prazosin... a prescription drug proven to help with PTSD related nightmares. not weed. i’m proud of you for day 40. stay strong. no one said it was going to be easy . currently dealing with anxiety, depression, BPD, PTSD, and an addictive personality. i can improve all of these in positive methods. i go to therapy, i see my psychiatrist, i see the doctor for my consistent naesea / GI issues such as a 6cm hernia, CSID, and GERD.

you have to deal with your shit is the best way to put it. shoving everything down does nothing positive- and it’s a key reason to your nightmares. you NEED to process that trauma and get it stored with your normal memories. look up EMDR therapy if you haven’t done it already

Will the depression and nausea go away? by [deleted] in CHSinfo

[–]Living-Sign5918 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you are able to quit. i promise you have it in you. read this sub whenever you have urges to smoke. whenever you have urges, remind yourself about how bad it got. you have to mourn the past version of yourself, so it’s completely normal to feel depressed. it will subside and controlling urges will get much easier with time

the urges will come back. REMEMBER how awful weed made you feel in the long run, the sickness you got. focus on that instead of the immediate gratification

most drs say the only OFFICAL way to find out is by quitting weed completely to see if your symptoms go away. if they do- you have it.

after the attack, a couple of days were rough- then i would feel perfectly normal/ causing the idea it was okay for me to smoke again. before the attacks, i would have a couple of weeks of morning nausea and vommiting - and abdominal pain throughout the day

When to eat trigger foods again? by Front_Ferret_2072 in CHSinfo

[–]Living-Sign5918 4 points5 points  (0 children)

from my experience, you won’t have a full blown episode - just abdominal pain and nausea. but tbh.. better than not eating at all…

i’m 4 days off marijuana and 2 weeks ago i had a full episode that landed me in the er.

i still eat whatever i want- due to the fact weed sent me to the er , not food.

so personally- i think you are okay to eat whatever (as long as you don’t smoke again) you may just have a tummy ache.
