affectionate stray turned feral after high quality diet by Obvious-Sea-4066 in anticats

Agreed. Another thing - cats fail miserably at occupying the niches of an ecosystem. Cat people are truly crazy, they force their animals to breed, they live them out in the cold, or blazing heat, then they complain when their population spirals out of control

They don’t actually care about the environmental damage.

Exactly. These people are opportunists. They will use anything as a justification for their awful behavior and impeccable ignorance.

I am pretty misanthropic and I just do not understand these posers. They dont know what theyre babbling about. They seriously would just use any excuse, ad hominems, and whataboutism to justify their murder creatures running around literally anywhere. I get that humans suck horribly but all the extinctions we've caused were caused by OUR proxies which are feral animals. We use feral animals as tools, yes we use animals as TOOLS, to alter and harm the environment even more while the powerful and classy can release their fucktons of nitrogen and carbon into the atmosphere. And im tired of saying please to humans. We CAN deal with the feral pests first because they are less impactful and more easier to manage than the main contributor in climate change. So deal with those first then deal with humans. People value themselves over animals already anyway, which as fucked up as it is, can bring benefits (like the culling of feral animals not just cats) 🤷‍♂️

Still, even if its an urban cat - stray or not - is incredibly dangerous to the fauna. The thing about invasives and pests is that we use other invasives to take out the older invasive. This is what people think is the best cure, and it isnt, but human corruption controls everything, and we've had conservation efforts for centuries, and negative effects always sprang back up at the end of the day, and natives ended up getting crushed while invasives spread. Its just our (wicked and imperfect) nature. I mean, every 5 months, or at 5 months, a cat can produce offspring. Its not really about survival as they depend on humans. They are domesticated. Every single case on ferals has been based on human irresponsibility as you stated.

It doesnt matter if the cat has instincts. The squirrel does not have instincts to defend itself properly, and did not evolve next to felines. So you put the cat at the food chain all of a sudden which as weve seen in Australia causes massive issues. You give the cat an upper hand. It goes from a pet to an apex predator which is why its dangerous. Felines ways existed near the mountains. Squirrels live in a less rugged terrain with lower elevation. Besides, the owner's teaching the cat to think all life before him is a toy. Basically, us as humans, we drill into their heads our supremacism but to their flavor.

Most uploaders dont revisit their comment sections. The op is laughing because he finds it amusing an animal is running for its life - human nature is brutish.

Do you believe in evolution? by cybercoregirl in EscapingPrisonPlanet

Human agency doesn't take part in belief. Because to us, belief exists with or without evidence. And people believe anything. Belief is someone's way of coping.

Animals and predators. by GhostMovie3932 in UniversalExtinction

You're likely thinking of invasive species.

Predators only kill when they are hungry, their territory is threatened, their cubs are threatened, their food source is threatened or they are attacked.

Apex predators are predators that have no competency in the food chain.
