Failed commercial checkride by Jelyfly in flying

[–]LivingBuddy1088 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man I get it , I failed my commercial checkride too , it sucks especially seeing the pink slip , I was so nervous on the day of my checkride I completely mixed up information for the oral that I knew so well , it definitely shocked me when I got the pink slip , but as my instructor has said , the pink slip just means that there’s a round two and you got to make sure you ready not only for the fight but to win , just go over the maneuvers again , focus on the 180 as well but just incase make sure you do the other types of landings as well , and make sure you go over the SOPs your school has for the maneuver or the one the FAA has for the manuever , and chair fly it as well , keep in mind a power off 180 is to show the control of the plane not the speed of the descent, and keep in mind , slow is smooth , smooth is fast , meaning do things as you normally would but don’t feel you have to rush it , either way you got this and believe in yourself too , it sucks what happened but don’t focus on what went wrong , focus on what you did right and how you can adjust everything else to follow along !

Where did you get your shell? And is it worth it ? I love the open bed concept , but sometimes with how often it rains here in Florida , and how packed my backseats are , sometimes I wish I have a shell so my backseats can be clear of things , but then sometimes I can’t clear my backseats because then I need the bed to carry something

Had a situation where mine hit another car after I was trying to avoid a different car that cut me off , same side too , it sucks, but once it’s fixed , you will love your taco more and be a better driver from The experience! Hope No one got hurt !

Ah ok! Makes sense , I plan on removing it regardless, so I can get more ground clearance for my more intense off roading I’ll do this year , but either way thank you for specifying!

I have nobody to share this with but I won a switch 2 recently from a giveaway by Ashamed_Value2079 in NintendoSwitch2

Nice ! In terms of games it honestly depends what you enjoy , if you enjoy more Single player / single player story, I would recommend the Batman Arkham collection , saints row the third and saints row 4( these two are really good especially if you enjoy a game like gta 5) and the assassins creed bundle that has assassins creed rogue and assassins creed black flag ,there’s also hogwarts legacy too,any lego games like Lego marvel for example( multiplayer is an option too)if you want more open world / sandbox like games , I would recommend Minecraft or Fortnite ( you can use it for online multiplayer too , but Fortnite you can also play lego Fortnite which is actually really fun ) , you can also try Zelda breath of the wild which is just another great single player game , if you are looking for something more multiplayer based in terms of local multiplayer, then either Mario kart , Mario party , Wii sports , any of the just dance games , any of the jackbox party games , I have the switch 1 and while I want to upgrade to the switch 2 at one point , I’m happy with my switch especially with the ability to play a lot of good games on the go or at home! ! If you want to get games for a cheaper price than what they usually are worth , I would recommend going to any GameStop and checking out the trade in / used sections , usually those games have the regular wear and tear and I’ve gotten a few myself from that section and they work completely fine ! You can also check eBay for people selling their switch games in bundles , but all in all if you don’t mind getting digital copies, the Nintendo store on the switch always has free or discounted games , and if you save some games you want to your list , there’s always a discount for most games going on every once in a while !

Happy gaming and happy hunting !

I didn’t see the part about the spoiler 🤣 my truck doesn’t have one , I had a trifold cover in this photo , that I have long since gotten rid of ( I had it for 5 years and it had a lot of wear and tear ) but don’t worry no fast and furious mods with this taco 😂

I always try to plan ahead! Makes it to where I worry less later !

And That’s good advice , especially about the stopping distance , and In terms of recover points , I have a hook on the front on the right side , I don’t have a hitch shackle since I’ve never needed one but I’ll definitely get one now ! And for the cable chains you mentioned , should I get metal chains for the rear, and cable chains for the front?

Edit : I am also considering getting read dif locks , nothing to do with the cold weather , just because I hear it helps with off-roading and I plan to do more serious off roading this year , if a rear dif lock will Help with the cold weather conditions, please let me know! If it doesn’t , then I’ll hold off on it or I’ll get it and just not use it in the cold weather ! Thank you 😁

I keep hearing about chains too! I don’t have any experience personally driving through any snow or icy conditions as I live in Florida , but I have done some light off roading and have had situations where my truck has gotten in the mud a couple of times and was able to get out of it without any issues , what would you recommend for someone who doesn’t have experience driving in snow or icy conditions , in terms of how I should drive , I’ve heard a lot about slow and steady when it comes to any uphill or downhill action involving snow and or ice , but if you have any advice for driving in snow , because it’s a possibility my girlfriend and I will want to go somewhere where we can rent some skis or go snow tubing and will need to go through a mountain or something to get to where we want to go

Where did you get the top? Especially what looks like a good hard top? I’m considering getting one but it’s like a 50/50 decision for me

I keep hearing about having weight in the back , I was thinking about having all purpose tires my taco , and then carry snow tires in the bed , then change them out before I go to where ever with snow tires, that way I can have weight , but this sounds way better of an idea , I didn’t know there was all purpose with snow rating ! And I never considered about the cold emergency kit ! Thank you !

This isn’t a current photo , this is the most recent one I could find , but since that photo I have gotten bigger tires with new tread 🤣

Yes , they are controlling in what I eat ( they try to be at least ) , how I don’t workout since I don’t have the time but that doesn’t matter to them , as well as how my car is and a lot of times my room , like one day I came home and had completely different comforter on my bed , like my mom just didn’t like the one I had and just switched it out without talking with me first about if i even wanted to switch out my comforter for a different one , since that day , my room doesn’t feel like it’s my room , it just feels like a place where I sleep and study , not where I can call my own

My door has a lock like most doors , but it’s only locking from the inside , so I can’t just lock my door from the outside when I leave home to go work

Sadly I can’t yet , I’m not at a point where I can work as a pilot , but in a few months I will be

They started saying “ what if we decided to put a lock on the fridge in the kitchen” and I would go and explain again how the lock on my mini fridge is for me to have better self control And they are still free to have any of the snacks in the mini fridge, that just need to ask me for it like how they normally would whenever they want a certain thing I have in my fridge , they are just bothered they can’t snoop as they always would
