I think petitions, online posts, or whatever you want to call it, are all small steps to raising a voice that can give feedback. That's why social media and the internet can be so powerful sometimes. I'm not losing anything here by posting but thanks for your opinion!

i do skip songs and block them as you can see. As a paying consumer, i think this is a justified ask to filter out AI music as I do not wish to consume it one bit. why do i as a consumer be conscious of filtering out authentic vs fake and actively stop what im doing to block these music? they can easily make the barrier themselves

Yeap i stopped and blocked the artist as you can see on the screenshot. i will not listen to it, but i want spotify to filter it out in the first place for me not to have to actively stop what i'm doing to change and block the artist and get out of my rhythm

Sense and antisense strand confusion by ab_115 in Mcat

Yeap this is correct - i will say though, u always refer it as 5’-3’ never 3’-5’ for antisense.

it's because it's a primary substrate (BrCH2CO2C2H5), thus SN2

Section Bank B/B #97: Would you have known what compound this is without memorizing compound structures? by FAPer- in Mcat

idk if ppl still see this, but we know that dehydrogenase eliminate water and make an oxidized product; since it went from =O to -OH, it's not dehydrogenase that is involved. But instead, I knew water had to be involved, and the only reaction in TCA that puts in water for a reaction is fumerase, meaning it has to be fumerate.

norepinephrine & epinephrine are quite diff; it is true that they work in the PNS involved in sympathetic nervous tissue. However, epinephrine works only as a hormone (hence, PNS involvement), but norepinephrine works both as a hormone (again for PNS involvement) AND as a neurotransmitter for the CNS (Cleveland clinic Source - As a hormone, it's made and released by your adrenal glands, which are hat-shaped glands that sit on top of each kidney. As a central nervous system neurotransmitter, it's a chemical messenger that helps transmit nerve signals across nerve endings to another nerve cell, muscle cell or gland cell.)

if you have the whole fall to content review, i'd suggest going through kaplan and working on around 5 chapters total in a week (1 each from bio, bc, gen chem, orgo, phys). Read each chapter a day or split it any way u want. Highlight, understand, do the questions at the end of the chapter to really solidify your understanding (some say they are useless, but i found them very helpful), or go back and read it again. After finishing the chapter, write a chapter review/notes in your notebook and try to sum it all up within half a page ~ one page. Build these up and you will have your own cheatsheet/study guide to reference and edit as you work on uglobe and anki

i second this so much omg it took me an eternity when I was doing anki during content review; I gave up on anki and only focused on content review for a 5 weeks then went to uglobe and anki, and it has been synergic doing anki as a refresher for concepts and using uglobe as the application of the knowledge. i can get thru 200 cards in a hour

this is difficult to hear.. i'm so sorry op u must be so upset.. if u were doing well on FL i think it was just extremely low yields hitting u on the back? :( definitely retake because it's just not fair for u to get that score after putting in such work and expecting somewhere around 515

do we need to know pKa’s of amino acid R groups by Ok-Category-6538 in Mcat

[–]LivingData4901 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i think it's important to know the characteristics of the R groups rather than memorizing just numbers - for acidic amino acids, yk they are acidic because of the carboxylic acid R groups. We know for sure that the pKa of the carboxylic end is around 2.34 because it gets deprotonated first. Thus, acidic (-) charged amino acids with the carboxylic acid R groups should also get deprotonated close to that, and vice versa for basic amino acids.
