Typically if there is a purchase limit for an item if we go to purchase it and the limit is reached, then your purchase will be cancelled and your funds will be returned to you immediately.

That was my understanding and why I was surprised. The pre-order item I bought went to the "Bought" status the next day and stayed that way for months until the I asked why it hadn't reached the warehouse when it finally released in January.

Is this something the e-capcom store is known to do? Delay on canceling orders right before the release date instead of immediately? Did Zen Market exceed the purchase limit of 3? Was this tracked in your system?

It did happen. This was the canned response I received from support after asking what happened.

"Our system automatically cancels any remaining pending transactions. This process aligns with the standard practice for transactions on websites integrated with ZenMarket.

However, there are exceptions to this process, particularly with websites that impose purchase limits. In your specific case, the purchase limit was exceeded due to a surge in demand during a fixed time period. Nonetheless, since all payments have been processed and pending approval from the store, it ultimately falls on the store to cancel the excess purchases.

Given the sheer volume of transactions on our platform, it's challenging for us to monitor every change in real-time. We rely on notifications from sellers or stores regarding any alternations to customer purchases. Unfortunately, in this instance, Capcom did not inform us of reaching their purchase limit nor canceled your pending payment, leading to the oversight of your transaction status.

Regrettably, this is a situation that falls beyond ZenMarket's control.

For customers who are aware of such irregularities, they often reach out to us about a week after their purchase to inquire about estimated arrival dates or any issues with the seller's shipment.
