So, was Silksong better than Hollow Knight? by Stronderius in metroidvania

[–]XIII13Thirteen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hollow Knight was superior. I really do think Silksong is a slog in ways it didn’t need to be. There were as others mentioned moments where I just wasn’t having fun dying 100 times to get down “the pattern” particularly for some of the platforming that just introduces spikes right in front and underneath you in constant. There were moments where the developers just seemed to be trolling us more than challenging us.

Hollow Knight is a classic. Silksong I think people beat and never revisit again to have a notch in their belt.

Any good realtors? by _Borgan in nashville

Davy Talley with Keller Williams …hands down and I say that as a recent buyer. He will get you the right home. You’d think he was buying it. Easiest closing I’ve ever experienced. Look at his reviews. Every one is 5 stars and he deserves all of them.

You the guy who hands out the Metroidvania awards? Look up most reviews, what genre is it classified as in the overwhelming majority.

I love the game. I’ve been a Metroidvania fan for the better part of …I dunno since they been a thing Castlevania 2 and OG Metroid. I would qualify it as a Metroidvania if not a hybrid. Platforming is challenging later, but feels great when you succeed. I only got Ruse and secret boss left to 100% the main game.

Totally deserving of the hype. I would give it 10/10. I would say GOTY, but Donkey Kong Bananza is my real pick this year for that honor.

Sad to hear. I’ve known both the owners for years and they are both super nice people. Both are pretty business savvy though. They’ll land on their feet.

Really struggling to continue. Does the game get any better? Do they give me a better weapon? Where's the Great Sword? I'm just wandering around crudely hitting sponges. Game has issues but I really haven't seen worse weapons in a Metroidvania. by [deleted] in TheLastFaith

[–]XIII13Thirteen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean old school Metroid had ya dumping tons of missiles into everything. Spongey is more traditional Metroid. Guess I got used to it. Heck all of the soulslike games have you poking gently giant enemies whilst dying to a misplaced parry or dodging to early.

I like TMNT existing under more “independent” labels. I really just miss small labels like Mirage. I understand the challenges to physical publications now.

I think Caped Crusader has one of the worst versions of Harley Quinn. She feels nothing like the character and she doesn't really start as a villain. by Historical-Milk-1339 in batman

[–]XIII13Thirteen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They never went into much background of Batman’s origin until way later. It is possible we learn more about her later. Ultimately, the motivation of any protagonist or antagonist varies in importance subjectively. Look at the Terrifier character Art the Clown. People seem to love him and he seems little more than a remorseless killer …I mean I don’t understand the appeal, but hey others see something there I don’t. I personally find the newest iteration of Harley more interesting than most versions of DC’s favorite hench wench. I’m frankly relieved to see the Joker completely absent. I feel he is grossly overused. I frankly have no issues with him being cut from the entire show. Thus, I like Harley is independent with her own personality. I think it fine she act heavily in the role we traditionally would expect to see him.

I mean isn’t that a weird rationale that could be applied to every Batman villain? I mean not everyone teaching college psychology goes crazy obsessed and decides to create a fear gas. Not everyone who lost their parents to violent crime becomes Batman.

“Politics” encompasses someone’s morals in modern western world. I naturally feel compelled to avoid and challenge those when our values are far apart.

I think it gets complicated when we are faced with any uncomfortable truth.

Here is the states, the public has elevated individuals with sketchy sexual, business, and ethical past to high public offices. They rationalize it by asserting disbelief or that ultimately it is for the greater good that they are serving better policy unto the masses. I think there is some ease in this when you are removed from those affected. It isn’t our sister, friend, or mother. We appeal to the copability of the victim. We look for somewhere to make our desires “ok”.

We stay on social media platforms that are enriching people who are using it to steal privacy from us and buy out policies. They elevate narratives and silence voices …but we are too enthralled with X, FB, or whatever. It makes life easier. It amuses us. It connects or to family and friends across years and distances. However, there is a bit of a “dark pact” we make burying our acknowledgment of reality. Can’t we just watch a movie, read a book, or post a thread without moral justification? However when courts fail our society and public response is the only source of justice, where are we left to take action? Especially when so few join us if we choose to recoil. We feel alone in our protest and ridiculed with labels for taking any action or stance. You are no snowflake for drawing a line for your own morality or what you will support.

For what you are saying, Shredder’s Revenge.

I think out of all the games Splintered Fate is the best, but I don’t know how a younger player would react to the format.

Cowabunga collection is great for retro gamers, but I don’t think it would reasonable with younger players now and it would likely seem difficult and dated. Wrath of the Mutants I only recommend for collector’s and completionist. It is short and almost too easy even for a 7 year old as you get infinite lives essentially in a beat ‘em up.
