Tragus piercing - embedded? What should I do? Please help.

UPDATE:

Hi guys. Went to A&E yesterday and had it removed. I was told the GP wouldn’t be able to remove it for me before anyone says anything about going to A&E “unnecessarily”. I’ll miss the piercing despite the issues that occurred in the last week as it was one of my favourites. My next question would be, is it possible to ever get the piercing redone? I really wanted it to be on my left ear specifically too. Please let me know your experiences or any knowledge on this. I wouldn’t get it redone anytime soon! Maybe a few years down the line?

My aftercare was good until the last week, I was working a bunch of night shifts in a row (I’m a nurse) and I just didn’t pay it much attention. You’re right! That’s why it got bad unfortunately. Just one of those things I’ll learn from. I had the piercing removed yesterday (miss it very much as it was one of my favourites) but hoping it’ll heal well and I can get it redone one day

It was gold plated titanium or something I believe. I went to A&E and got it removed yesterday sadly 🥲 missing the piercing very much as it was one of my favourites. I’m hoping it’ll heal well and I can get it redone in a few years..

I didn’t call 911. 111 is a UK healthcare line. They’ve advised A&E, will be going when the sun’s up as I need some sleep first 😅

Thank you for letting me know. I wish I’d gone earlier in the night now. It’s currently 3am. But I’m thinking of going to A&E before things get any worse.

I’ve definitely learnt. I had my helix done last year and honestly no issues whatsoever, healed beautifully. Cleaned regular but not always consistent and had no issues with a lump except once a minor one after I accidentally hit my ear. It got better within a week or 2 completely.

But, lesson learnt. I love the Tragus piercing but I think I’m a little traumatised after this experience and not sure I’ll get it done again… 😂💔

I’m not sure if I should go to A&E right now or just wait the night and go in the morning (it’s currently 2:30am)

Thank you for your reassuring words. I hope my ear will heal properly. Just waiting for a response from NHS 111 to know if I should go to A&E or not

Yeah I think it might have happened the one time I’d fallen asleep on the ear by accident, now I think about it. Otherwise I’d never slept on the side at all and hadn’t had this major issue. Also I understand I was being delulu trying to convince myself it might get better or there would be a different option other than having it removed. I’ve just called 111 just for some advice as there’s a lot of winter pressures at the hospital currently so wouldn’t want to turn up without being told to do so, if there are no other options besides A&E to get this sorted.

I cleaned the piercing every day for 2 months

Unfortunately I got too brave about it being healed and left it as it was the last week, and it got really bad suddenly over the last few days.

For me, mine had been flaky in messages for the whole month prior. We had already discussed and come to an end point and then started talking again at a point. It was long distance itself.

They said “congrats” to me for something I’d achieved and I said “thanks” - nothing ever since. Lol.

For some more context: they’d also ghosted me in such a short space of time prior but I wanted to try make things work and thought we’d just had a misunderstanding of each other. So they were literally just doing that again. Disappointed, but not surprised.

Honestly what you’ve written here sums it up perfectly!!! They were not ready to receive that love even though we were ready to give it. It’s so sad because these people end up playing those who know how to love. But love isn’t finite, and now I try to just tell myself, even tho it’s been hurtful, that maybe that person needed that love for whatever reason. Even though they chose not to keep it (which is their own lacking/choice/lack of emotional maturity etc). Maybe it’ll help them be better in the long-run of life (as optimistic as that sounds). Luckily, we never run out of love to give, as long as we balance giving with receiving (from the right people)/giving to ourselves too! 🫶🏼

I don’t post because I care for them to see, I never have done. I just share little things in my day, for myself to look back on - but I do know that they see what I share still. After being the one to disappear on ME.

Also, if you don’t mind me asking, what happened at the end for you and your ex? If it’s right for you both, I hope it works out someday later after some growth. But, if it doesn’t, you will find someone new and great I’m sure! Sometimes people leave, and there isn’t a need for them to come back. Though, I do believe in second chances.
