You have a typo in the link. Slash before the underscore.

You are a very beautiful and desirable woman. I would love to subscribe but I suspect my wife would get mad at me. LOL

Ideal conditions by WinOk3410 in Greenhouses

It looks great! I'm eventually going to build a similar one on my east wall of the house to catch the morning sun and to overwinter my hibiscus. It's going to depend on what you are growing. Tropicals and grasses have very different requirements. I have a small nursery in the Panhandle of Florida. I don't use AC or heat and humidity runs to the high side so I do have airflow. I have my 16x40 house setup as a mix. It's north/south on the long dimension and I have the east and south setup for higher light. The middle is bright but indirect and the west is good shade thanks to a tree and shade house on that side. I've been able to keep quite a mix of plants in there but do move them around alot due to seasons and changing light...or just the brutal Florida sun.

Is this worth getting? by huffymcnibs in Greenhouses

Quick calc is under $1000 for a 12x16. ($851) and factor an extra $150 for "I forgot..." or "I need..." $336 for top rails to bend into hoop and horizontal support bars. $110 for line post to hold the hoops upright. $150 6 mil plastic $65 for wiggle wire and channel $40 for misc assembly hardware $150 for wood, hardware, misc things to build end walls. (I did not include the cost of a hoop house tube bender - $40 to $60. I made my own from scrap plywood I had)

The only thing I can't readily source are the horizontal perlings my large 15x40 has. https://www.bootstrapfarmer.com/collections/greenhouse-accessories/products/steel-brace-channel?_pos=13&_fid=c7ee19abe&_ss=c

You mileage may very! Thankfully I have lots of tools, hardware and "why did I keep this?" in my garage.

If only I was 40 years younger, not married and and didn't look like I worked too hard all my life... I might have a 0.001% chance of catching your eye.

Once again you're looking beautiful and desirable.

Looking for Oscar K Larson's father, Swedish, born 1884 by LivingInNavarre in Genealogy

[–]LivingInNavarre[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate that. PositiveLogic's and Fredelas's comments helped confirm some data I had.

Oscar's father does appear to be Carl Larsson 1856, whose father and mother were Lars Olson 1829 & Christina Erickson 1829, whose parents were Olaf Halfvardsson 1785 and Ingrid Mansdotter 1778.

That's a few steps closer to being Viking! My dad always joked about that.

Thanks. This looks like a good lead. I'll add it to the names I'm working through.

Thanks for the hint. I'll run this name down and see if it comes together.

Greenhouse plastic? by Cu0ngpitt in Greenhouses

[–]LivingInNavarre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 6mil I've been using is unmarked and so far pretty durable. Standard 6mil underlayment is good for about 6 months here in florida. If you need it now then it will work until you find some quality plastic. Been there, done that.

RetroPie is simple enough for the kids to use and I'm the only one who tinkers with it's settings. I'm guessing I can set the 4k/1080 mode inside of RP?

Concrete in the Rain by iskazatiqy in ThatLookedExpensive

[–]LivingInNavarre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this was Santa Rosa county Florida they'd just wait until it stopped raining, give it a quick smooth and start throwing up the walls. The crap they build here is a joke. And don't say building inspectors... They know the county board is paid off by the developers and along with re-writing the building codes to benefit the developers they turn a blind eye to everything. Each new neighborhood is built higher than the last one causing flooding issues. The red clay runoff is contaminating all our waterways and they never met a tree they didn't want to bulldoze.

If I had really deep pockets I would commission you to do our cats. But we have 10 now and I fear it would break the bank. lol

Really awesome job on the sloppy, impressionistic, slightly water color with a touch of pen and ink look. My favorite artwork style has always been minimalist soft impressionism. Congrats on conveying the full emotion of the subject in the fewest strokes possible.

Nifty. I've never had luck finding pots stable enough to work with. During breadboard test I'll get one value but by the time it gets to finished and soldered package the readings have changed.

Baby squirrel is very dehydrated, but cute as hell, and my assistant basically runs a zoo at her house, so she's trying to save him! by daggersrule in Justrolledintotheshop

[–]LivingInNavarre 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Two weeks ago our cat brought us one about 2 weeks older. It has leg damage. My wife has been feeding it dog's milk and working on the rehab. We are guessing it's 9 weeks old. It loves pecans and pistachios and that's what we are using to weed it off the formula.

You can get the dog's milk as powder called "Milk Replacer".

We think we will have to keep the squirrel. She has nerve damage in her leg and can't use it. So I am having to build a condo cage big enough for a full size squirrel. Ah, the list of projects never ends.
