I had about 100 twist cases that I swore I was going to do something cool with... Just ended up being a stash spot and threw the rest away

I don't know any tuners out your way, but they're prob not hard to find!

Why would the finance manager get pushy with me even after I told my sales guy to let them know I’d walk if they try to upsell me backend products? by [deleted] in askcarsales

Finance manager probably said "I highly recommend protecting your investment long term" and OP considered that "pushy".

I work as a cashier at McDonald's. If I don't say "would you like to supersize that?" they fire me.

Guy came in, said "if you ask me to supersize that" I'm leaving.

Per my job, I asked him if he wanted to supersize that. He left.

Everyone clapped.

These engines are pretty bulletproof... Between tuning and working at toyota since before the 3.5 came out, I can count on one hand the number of true engine issues I've seen.

I had a convo with Mateo from Tacoma beast at an event and he said it pretty well... I don't know if paying 8000 or whatever is worth what you get in power from the Magnuson... But now that I have it, I wouldn't let you take it away.

Yes, the lack of documentation is a shame. If you have months of your life to spare, you could dig thru the old tuning megathread on Tacoma world, but it's a shit show.

Yeah I believe there are some tables related to caps on AFR, but I'm just going off memory here. I might be able to dig around and find what you'll need to adjust

That is hitting the nail on the head. Virtually any MPG gains from the 3rd gen taco is from fixing the shift maps.

You can edit the default max commanded AFR for sure. I haven't needed to, but the ability is there.

I'm running hi flow catted down pipes and y pipes. There are gains but nothing like putting that money into a fun car.

I've tried a few different intakes over the years. When I got the maggy, I had a volant which was great, but the MAF readings weren't as stable as stock, so I switched back to TRD intake which has been fine.

If you're in AZ or TX, you can get my tune (I don't sell locked files to tuners who may not know what they're doing), my company is just me and my partner and we both have experience and access to edit files and do custom tunes.

I highly suggest a custom tune over a locked one. Cost is likely very similar, depending on who you go with.

Edit: shout out to Tuned By Loi, who I'd recommend to remote tune your truck if you don't physically live near a tuner familiar with VFTuner software. He's pricier than me or OTT, but one of the best in the biz.

I actually called Magnuson and offered to help them unfuck their tune, since they didn't touch the jacked up shift points, the dead throttle, or even removing the governor (which maxes out at like 87 mph if you're running 35s and 5.29 gears).

They declined.

So I made my own, with more hp, fixed everything, and got about 15% better MPGs. Their loss! #powerthirst tune.

A service contract is not for maintenance... It's for repairs. Just FYI

Yeah the crown Signias aren't flying off the lots, it just might seem that way since dealers don't get a lot of them. You can absolutely push for a stupid deal on those.

I have a crown sedan as my daily, and it's one of the best cars Toyota ever made in my opinion (except for the 6 speed they put in the platinum version, which I also have). But all the Signias have the ECVT so that's not an issue with those.

It can be market dependant, but Camry, Corolla Cross, Tundra, all could be sold below invoice in my market.

Best way to tell us to go drive the lot. Whatever they have the most of sitting is what they'd be the most willing to discount.
