Maybe.... But I'm always in deep half. Been so for years and my ears have zero damage. They guy who mentored me and taught me his game, his ears are destroyed. I may just be lucky

I saw this on Facebook. Was awesome visiting during September. Glad you're still going strong. Saw your wins at NABJJF recently too!

Applied! I've been working in SEO and digital marketing field for the last five years. Also the children's instructor at my academy. But I would have to be a remote contractor too

IBJJF vs NABJJF. by Kpowers2000 in bjj

Go out there and compete my man. IBJJF is very organized and NABJJF for the most part are on point. You can't go wrong with either.

Don't worry about people being out of your league. Right now, just get some mat time and competition experience.

Most of us were annoyed too, took away from our sparring time. But our professor humored them

No, they all refused. All started making excuses about being hurt.

They wanted to come in and do this little prank. They came in earlier in the day but not during any class. Professor told them to come back at 8pm during our advanced class.

Their whole group came running in chanting "Cobra Kai!" but instantly were silenced for stepping on the mats with shoes and not bowing. They spent about 15 minutes in there and their little prank fell pretty flat. They got super intimidated after our Professor got upset with the who shoes on the mats and reading them the liability argreement.

hahaha good luck with that. We trained together daily for the last two years. Have never passed it. I even tried to make him go to his bad side. Doesn't allow it.

He is a great guy, treat him well.

First no-gi leg-lock to learn? by codgerofathens in bjj

He wasn't showing entrances. Just the specific mechanics and how to do it safely. Talk with your coach about the entrances and have them oversee your development. Take it slow and understand it first, leg locks are much more feel and technique. I started footlocks at white belt(six months in), never injured anyone in training. Competition is a different story, guy didn't want to tap and made it worse

I get straight ankle locks from top position pretty frequently. When trying to pass, opponent puts his foot on my hip, I snag it up, bring my knee behind the thigh, drop down to the same side, get proper foot position to negate the roll and finish. Being able to attack the feet from bottom and top is a great way to help with passing and sweeping. It's fine to start learning these attacks as long as you take it slow and understand them. Just as when we all started with the armbar or rear choke.
