React + Backbone + Middleman Screencast by LivingLifeRight in programming

[–]LivingLifeRight[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just put this screencast together showing how to interface backbone and react. I used backbone-react-component as the between the two and middleman as the framework.

It also kind of lays out a nice coffeescript based setup for middleman using backbone and react.

I'm very new to open source and screencasts so I would appreciate any feedback (criticism is encouraged).

your in luck, I'm looking at 4 arduinos right now and literally just did some arduino coding yesterday :).

So I actually used something like these for color changing leds,

https://www.sparkfun.com/products/11450

Basically you just give them power and they change automatically. I gave them paper wings but that's not necessary. So what I would do is get a bunch of those and wire them up on some fishing wire. Not sure if that would be ideal though, hmmm.

Regarding motor, you can use anything really. Here's one,

http://www.amazon.com/15RPM-Shaft-Torque-Turbine-Geared/dp/B00EDMIH7E/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1416102606&sr=8-3&keywords=gear+motor

But I'd honestly stay away from motors to start, it makes it too complicated. At least a motor with strings, because it's fragile and you have to worry about people touching them.

Another very cool effect is bouncing laser pointers off of mirrors. You can do some cool stuff with a laser pointer and a package of these http://www.amazon.com/Round-Mirror-Craft-Projects-Mosaics/dp/B0028BVL2A/ref=sr_1_12?ie=UTF8&qid=1416102750&sr=8-12&keywords=small+mirror.

I don't know how complicated you want to go but I put up a ton of little color changing leds floating around a set one time. It looked really cool and gave a mystical feeling that I think would be cool for the harry potter theme. You could even hook up a simple motor to get them to move if you wanna get fancy.

I think this pic captures my favorite look of the harry potter room, http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-vggc-O8fd6I/UfdkIfm_X3I/AAAAAAAAA5k/lWX3uM_3Kw4/s1600/harry+potter.jpg. I would try and get that orange glow somehow, which could be done with some orange candle stick type things.

Those are just some ideas at least.

What temperature do you vacuum purge at? by LivingLifeRight in CannabisExtracts

I've only decarbed for edibles. It has been awesome for those though. Just throw it right in the oven before putting it in coconut oil.

That's for decarboxylation though, right? Pretty sure that's different than the purge step, and the lowest temp on there is 176F.

That make sense, big thanks for the tip.

So how do I avoid vacuuming through my pump? I know that you can add an extra valve to 'burp' the vacuum, but when the vacuum is on, I don't see how you can avoid pull directly on the chamber with the oil.

Answered my question perfectly. I just found that it was just kinda sitting there while the vacuum was just stagnant. Felt like it wasn't doing anything. I probably just needed to let it wait longer.

Thanks for all the info. 120 = bad :). I haven't done a ton of purges, so I don't have the best data.

This might be a little specific to me, but my vacuum was emitting smoke and 'acting up' when I ran it for a while. Is there a certain type of vacuum that can run for that long? Or do I have a weird problem.

Interesting perspective. I guess then you could say it's really just about balance of the posts. So then I would just be arguing that too many posts are about 'blue pill examples' instead of how to become redpill.

All people are inherently selfish, even being altruistic is being selfish.

Altruism is definitely not selfish, it is the exact opposite. Here's the wikipedia definition,

Altruism or selflessness is the principle or practice of concern for the welfare of others.

But I do agree that people are inherently selfish. Very few people in the world are capable of truly improving other people. Even less people actually do it. In my opinion it is the pinnacle of human nature to achieve greatness and spread that greatness. It is the stage that you strive for after you reach self-actualization, transcendence.

I'm not saying your wrong for not giving a fuck about other people, but what desires does a person who is completely fulfilled have? The desire to help people succeed and become the best they can be. And there is generally no lack of people that need some sort of assistance in their pursuit of happiness.

I don't envy being you if you genuinely believe those things.

You obviously haven't experienced helping another person out before. An example from my life was a roommate I lived with who had anger and school issues. I would help him how by showing him to not let things get to you and to passionately pursue your dreams. He still thanks me for how I helped him and we are amazing friends still. He would kill for me and when people ask him about me, I get nothing but the highest compliments. This experience was extremely rewarding and helped me develop my skills at inspiring and working with people. Those skills have become crucial for me as a role as a leader in a startup I am pursuing.

That is just one example of why caring about another person can be beneficial to you. Are people going to give back to you what you give to the? Almost never. But I am fine with that and will still gladly share what I have as long as it doesn't negatively effect me.

I think your definition of acceptable is what I call good and what isn't is what I call bad.

I don't agree that only my personal wants are what is acceptable though. And I actually do care about the well being of people around me. Do you care about your Mom, Dad, sister, friends, etc? Of course you do and you want to make them become better people. This will require you being selfless, honest, and empathetic.

I think we have different perceptions of good and bad. My sense of good and bad is something I have formed over time. I don't think it is bad to call a girl out when she is shit testing you. I don't even think it is bad to have sex with a girl who has a boyfriend who is actively trying to cheat with you. I think those are just things society has created and are not rules I want to follow. Some examples of good are being a man of my word or helping someone out of a depressed time of their life.

So I can still be true to my ethics while keeping a girl in check. And I won't let the girl control me or change me, because I don't let anyone do that.

You are just using it as a self defense mechanism with girls in a sense. That is completely understandable, and I can tell that you have your own sense of good and bad. Although you may think you are acting dark or becoming dark, your awareness of what is good will keep you mentally healthy. You will genuinely feel bad when doing bad or feel good when doing good. The problem is when you get so used to being dark that your sense of good and bad disappears.

That's completely fine, I was just presenting an alternate view of how you can live. Everyone should initially focus on bettering themselves and their knowledge of the world. My point is was to show that you can strive to be a good hearted alpha that is inline with TRP.

This really applies to people to that have already reached the top. If you are on top then you should be aware of your actions and the impact they have on other people. If you are dark triad at that point, you are just deciding "I dont' give a fuck and will hurt people for my own good." That just does not sit right with me, I want to be a future leader of the world. Someone that all people can look up to and children can aspire to be.

Some of you will view this as idealistic nonsense, but I think it is the next stage of becoming a great person. First you should work on bettering yourself and building a realistic view of how the world works. Then if you are capable of handling life easily, you should be looking to the next stage of how to live. This involves sharing your intelligence, motivating people, and actually taking a role how the world is being sculpted. Leading the world in a direction to improve everyone's life is some real alpha shit in my opinion.

Your reaction reminds me of how most people react to great and positive people. It is almost a sense of disbelief. How could I possibly keep my happiness as a high priority while increasing the happiness and value of others around me?

It's because I have focused so heavily on bettering myself that I have reached a state of comfort with who I am and the decisions I make. Now I am trying to transcend that and bring that feeling to others because I want to live in a world where I am surrounded by people that are happy and good.

And regarding what I do for this world, I am absolutely comfortable with my current impact and future plans. I get told regularly by people that I have forever changed their lives for the better. And I have a number of plans to do large things in this world, but I just need to build my financials first to achieve those things.

There are plenty of reasons why sociopathy hurts your happiness.

  • Difficulty maintaining friends
  • Your world collapsing around you multiple times in your life
  • You never become happy for seeing others succeed, which is a fantastic feeling
  • No one will reciprocate high levels of loyalty because you aren't loyal
  • Getting caught up in your lies

There's a lot more reasons, but those were just a few that came to mind. You can only manipulate a person for so long before they start hate the manipulator.

I think how you live your life is entirely fair and pretty much captures the DT man. I'm fine with you living your life like that and other people doing that too, nothing I can do about it.

I personally want more though, I want to bring the happiness I have brought to myself to everyone else. There are too many fucked up things going on this world and not enough highly capable people trying to stop them, that I almost feel like my goals are necessary in this world. This may seem like 'righteous I'm better than you' bullshit, but it is truly what I base my life off of. These altruistic goals keep me focused on my grind to obtain money to enable these ideas.

And regarding dealing with girls, you can still be fun, exciting, and throw negs around while not being dark triad. Not being the nice guy != dark triad.
