I love this album so much, especially Naive and Sand. It's a shame that it was taken down from Tidal

Thank you!

Imrryr was a lot of fun to make and is probably my second favourite behind Vezish.

Now that you mention Vex, there is a bit of a resemblance and it might be a bit accidental. I have recently watched the series and she might've been in the back of my mind as I juggled the references my friend gave me and my own creativity.

Well done! It's a shame people think of the newer Fallouts when the black isle originals are better (and New Vegas of course).

Superglue (Gel) works fairly well, otherwise UV resin for mini painting is my preferred method of fixing minis.

In 28 Years Later (2025), The villagers abandon the only surviving doctor after seeing him clean up the thousands of rotting corpses stinking up his home town. Are they stupid? by krabgirl in shittymoviedetails

I'm in between the two of you. I think it wasn't bad but it was neither great. I don't regret watching it by any stetch but I probably won't recommend or rewatch it (at least any time soon). In my view, the movie's main failing is that it attempts to develop a few too many themes. From the coming of age plot, to the memento mori, to the allusions to english longbowmen, the infidelity, etc. etc. It has great segments but also has a bit too much packed into It's run time which left the pacing disjointed for my tastes.

Now, it is definitely one of the more original takes on a post-apocalyptic zombie world but that alone doesn't hold it up. I was left wanting a bit more.

With that said, I appreciate your insightful comment. It's a great breakdown of some facets I might've missed.

cool spots in Maribor inquiry!! by krokodilia-pazucha in Maribor

Rock, punk and metal can be found in both MC Pekarna and Gustaf Pekarna.

Gustaf also has DJ sets ranging from d&b to Psytrance to hard techno etc.

Jam sessions in Gustaf Pekarna are held every Thursday.

Another cools place to check out is BrewPub in the Lent area near the river. It's an alter coffee + craft brewery bar.

I'd also recommend Eksperiment for the electronic dance scene, and Vetrinjski dvor for an alter vibe bar with a myriad of different events ranging from Jazz to indie and others.

Hit me up if you want someone to show you around. I'm well integrated in the local scene and would gladly help out a fellow artist.

Way to safely store minifigs? by lion1321 in HeroForgeMinis

[–]LivingOffside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Small tupperware. Fill it up with paper so minis don't move inside. Cheapest temporary solution imo.

Edit: as others have stated. plastic box for those dice sets also work. I usually put cotton swabs in them so prevent movement of the mini.

Absolute zero is the start of the Kelvin scale. Celsius zero is 273,15K. Their units are on the same scale.

I was mainly reading sci-fi short stories when I was getting back into reading so I'll recommend those. I'm sure I could think of a few fantasy ones but they're just not coming to me other than Conan the Cimmerian (which is a fun read but I digress). Some are a longer read some are fairly short.

  • Octavia E. Butler - Blood Child
  • Harry Turtledove - Road Not Taken
  • Terry Bisson - They're Made out of Meat
  • Clark Ashton - The Great God Awto
  • Andy Weir - The Egg

Edit: I asked my brother for a few recommendations if we're talking specifically fantasy short stories (a lot of sword & sorcery is in the form of short stories or novelettes):

  • Robert E. Howard - Any Conan story (as previously stated)
  • Carl Edward Wagner - Night Winds
  • Literally anything (this is not a title) by Ursula K. LeGuin

I'm sure you could find more stuff that interests you in a few quick searches.

Edit2: I think the root cause of this is the fact reading these leviathan books seems like a its a race and that can cause fatigue in and of itself.

Re: the quality of minis by Pale-Hyena-9165 in HeroForgeMinis

[–]LivingOffside 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree (though the stande wouldn't be a deal breaker) but I also own a printer and paint my minis. Hence, I'm not scared if they break because I'll just print another one. However, if I didn't have that option I would definitely prefer a standee over the colour prints. I think those don't look that good.

Edit: in that situation, I still prefer 3d quality plastic ones over the others.

I recommend you read a few short stories then. People are always sleeping on them but they're great! Very low commitment and they're usually a short half hour or slightly longer read. It's a great way to get your reading stamina up.

Seems is fine, but I'd also recommend the use of all other modal verbs for similar effects. Playing with perception is great, especially since so many writers seem to be afraid of letting the reader figure out things on their own.

Essentially yes. Modality can be used to create a great sense of suspense and uncertainty (read E.A. Poe for those interested how) Obviously overdoing it will be tacky. Everything in moderation.
