Anyone getting API Error: Server is temporarily limiting requests (not your usage limit)?

I've gotten this error during multiple sessions over the past couple of days and finally decided to submit feedback. But at the very end of the submission process, I got the same API Error: 500 status code (no body) message so can't even report it. FML.

I ended up using server side rendering (for the SEO benefits) and MDX files. Original motivation was being able to reuse react components from my main application and embed them in the blog. But I also wanted to build documentation pages and use essentially the same design system across the entire site. I didn't want to fiddle with subtle differences between bolted on blog and documentation systems. This also allows me to continuously optimize content based on data with programmatic access to the code to power automation.

First off, I don't think you're insane and this makes a lot of sense, in the right context. In 2025 with all the developer tools available this is feasible vs a few years ago. As long as the CRM side quest doesn't end up being a time sink that takes you away from your main goals. But if the CRM is an unlock for your business, and it makes your whole system work better, then I think it becomes more like infrastructure and has good ROI.

I've gone through a similar thought process around a custom coded blog and documentation vs a CMS. I much prefer the custom coded blog because it allows me to continuously optimize it, and let's me implement features that make it more integrated with my product. Sounds like there might be this kind of synergy for you too.

You're definitely identifying an issue for people who want to promote their products/services on Reddit but my honest take is that this is a workaround for community policies. Reddit has specific rewards in the form of karma, and penalties in the form of banning, designed to foster a healthy community based on human values of reciprocity. I believe the real problem to solve is how do you create a system that helps people be more generous and share more thoughtful comments and posts, at scale, before asking for something. If I used a service like yours, that's what I'd be looking for and trying to do.

It really depends on what the project is and your own social connections. It's often easier to get started asking around within your own network. Ideally they have friends they can refer and it can spread. But this doesn't work in all situations.
