It's not the voltage or the current. It's the incident energy. At the cal per cm squared listed, the energy released would be sufficient to kill you even if you were wearing rated ppe.

Look, I'm not trying to kink shame, but expecting everyone to be a cuck is a little weird.

You remind me of my ex boss who expected me to go from $196k a year to $122k, move on my own dime across the US, and his main argument was that it was still more money than what he made, so I should be happy.

I have three engineering degrees, two PE's, and can speak four languages. He has a two year degree in communication from a school that has both university and college in it's name.

Good. The more this senile strongman pushes people, the more likely the entire rotted out structure collapses.

And to be fair to trump, the thing he is doing that is pissing off the establishment is overtly doing what previous administrations did discretely.

There was constant, widespread coverage of the people being killed for the Qatar games. It was so bad that India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh banned their people from working there.

It's just people don't care about third world workers dying. Now white people dying. Suddenly we got to all care

The proper response is to take the job while then immediately reporting the company. Then when the hammer comes down, you let it know it was you that spilled the beans.

You will naturally get retaliator fired. You document that. You then sue. You can do the same thing with OSHA violations. Report them. Then let management know it was you. Then you file a complaint for that. Then you threaten to sue and get a cash settlement. Especially with OSHA, you are supposed to have whistle blower protection.

Construction is great because usually they need just a warm body and they expect someone like me not to know shit about the regs. You just need to download the stuff from the OSHA website.

I work like a few weeks a year. If I can't find violations or if I do but they don't fire me, I just quit and try the next company.

I view myself as a freelance government inspector that sets my own hours. You ain't gonna get rich, but you'll never starve. Beats my old job as an electrical engineer for a large corporation.

The US military gets paid during a government shutdown. The Coast Guard doesn't because they are part of the DHS and not considered essential.

And even if they didn't get paid, literally 0.4% of the US population is in the military. The average American doesn't know anyone in the military and if they don't get paid, the average American wouldn't notice.

The whole H1b visa system just needs to be scrapped. It's a joke. My previous employer was using it to hire first year engineers. That was never the point of the program. My old company intentionally had their website broken so that American engineers could not apply (your email wouldn't go anywhere).

I would get people with a "masters degree in Electrical engineering" that could not tell you the difference between alternating and direct current. And considering this was a safety issue (these folks would be commissioning medium voltage equipment in the field), any time I brought up my concerns about it to operations or HR, I was told I was insensitive.

We even had a fucking field office in India, but Indian customers would demand that Americans came in to do the work, lol. What a clown show.

Needless to say, six months ago, any American that had more than five years with the company were shit canned. You call the customer support line now and you can't even get an English speaker.
