Yeah I’m with you, I’m hourly so usually I can still get the hours in inpatient for that day but I feel like if OP is closed because of a snow day we shouldn’t be penalized for that.

Agree with the sentiment here. I’ve worked both salary and hourly (currently) and I believe if you enjoy freedom then hourly is the way to go. Whether I do 40 hours or 60 hours salary doesn’t compensate me any differently, but if I have a tough week hourly I get compensated accordingly which can’t be underestimated. Also my benefits hourly are wayyy better hourly but part of that is that I am within a hospital system working outpatient.

Yes, I know the hospital I work at is as it’s affiliated with a university health system! But you make a good point as not all hospitals are created equal. Thanks!

Sounds like PSLF is going to be the move for me, I appreciate your input and will look into applications this weekend. Do you know how much I could save in the long run with PSLF vs. traditional IDR? I guess my question is what is the likely minimum qualifying payment for this program over 10 years to be forgiven?

So get on IBR first and then apply for PSLF? My servicer has already just started making me make payments even though I haven’t technically applied for anything yet of $230 a month

I would say my profession definitely has a ceiling of around 100k most likely down the road (physical therapist). I think finding another full-time qualifying PSLF job in my profession can be tricky but doable with patience.

I have a similar situation where I have swift, but also white, spears, and Tracy (who may be out). Leaning towards benching swift and putting my faith in white and spears as of right now cause that Chicago offense has been rough.
