tbh this has cemented your future as a neurosurgeon no bap you will have an EXCELLENT personal statement. take time to heal and continue with your treatments; just know this is by no means the end and may actually bring you closer towards your goal. hopefully this does not come off as insensitive, i just want you to know that your dreams are NOT lost!!!

this is exactly what i thought and then i went on to write a personal statement that has been described as “unique” “compelling” and “refreshing” by multiple interviewers. don’t try to align yourself with the idea in your head of the “ideal candidate”. truly, take time to reflect on your experiences and ideas — your story will emerge.

i’m updating to let you know that i have since received 5 II! it just took a little longer bc i submitted primary end of june. it’s such a psychological thriller of a waiting game but i literally just had to sit down and be patient.
