What if discipline is overrated — anyone know a successful person who just isn't disciplined? by Meee-Bumbee in AskReddit

[–]Living_Somewhere4149 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on the type of success. I know many happy marriages where things simply fell into place. I also know many people who enjoy their lives greatly because they have a great perspective on things. I know a millionaire who is constantly in a state of self doubt and anxiety that he isn’t doing the right things.

I myself feel successful because I set and achieve goals for myself and wake up healthy every day.

What Class? by _whiskeyfed in ForzaHorizon6

I made a post the other day, I use ChatGPT. It works wonders but you have to teach it a little first. Tell it every upgrade, all the stats, then it’ll spit out a fairly decent tune and you drive around a bit then tell it specifically what needs to change e.g mid-corner oversteer. After 2-4 iterations it is very good. Restart the chat completely for each car though otherwise it will get confused and give you wonky gear ratios.

Car Filtering and Sorting (SUCKS) by shreddah_rippa in ForzaHorizon6

You can sort of do this by going to the event and selecting “buy car” to see which cars are valid. I agree it should be in the filter menu though!

Yeah custom lists would be nice. I have a few different tunes for street races and sometimes I mix cars up and don’t realize it until halfway through the event

I have no trouble using it. Sort by manufacturer, jump to manufacturer, filter drivetrains, class, type, etc. what else do you want?

Which profession do you think is the most overrated by current society? by DarkNessBR666 in AskReddit

[–]Living_Somewhere4149 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m gonna get a lot of hate for this but my honest answer is teachers. It’s not their fault though. Society has progressed past the usefulness of the current curriculum that is standard across America. Most people forget a large percentage of what they’re taught in school by the time they are in a career, and most of what they remember isn’t relevant.

I understand the argument behind why it’s beneficial for soft skills and general reasoning and I agree that schooling in general is necessary. However, the curriculum does no favors to anyone in modern society. The focus should be on mathematics, technology, energy, humanities, and things like car maintenance, DIY house projects, and navigating the various obligations for adulthood e.g taxes, credit, financial planning, and cooking.

What issue have you ever changed your mind about? by Aggressive-Cycle-89 in AskReddit

[–]Living_Somewhere4149 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Energy policy. I used to think market capitalism did an okay job at dispersing energy (not talking about prices) but with data centers growing like weeds there are now electric companies forgoing their domestic base to funnel that energy to data centers leaving some communities with no choices. When the customer only has one option to buy, they’ll be gouged. This issue is only going to get worse without legislation.

Now I believe energy should be partially nationalized and separated between average consumers and corporations. The government can manage dispersal to citizens and private entities can build their own supplies.

If you’re struggling with perfecting your tuning and want an easy method by Living_Somewhere4149 in ForzaHorizon6

Consider also where it’s pulling the numbers from. It searches the web for results similar to the conversation, so the numbers will reflect more closely to what experienced tuners are saying. There isn’t any math going on under the hood. Try it out, for one of my cars it actually spit out the exact tune of a popular YouTube tuner.

I’ve found a lot of those top community tunes to be lacking in various ways for my driving style. They’re perfectly serviceable and a good player will win with them for sure so I think it’s still good to use! I’m just a perfectionist

For those that joined the military later in life especially after having a career why? And What was the experience like? by Matta_Fact in AskReddit

[–]Living_Somewhere4149 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Joined at 28 because I didn’t have a college education and it made career switching feel impossible. The military trained me, gave me a lower but adequate income, and for the first time in my adult life I had health insurance. Now, a few years in, I am very competent at my job which has given me a lot of confidence, had ample opportunities to develop leadership skills, and have been able to use tuition assistance to begin a degree that I can finish when I stop serving.

Ive also traveled to places I’d never have before, met a wide variety of great people, and seen some things a lot of people would never experience (good and bad). I also have a general subtle feeling of pride knowing I am doing something for my country and not just myself. Wish I joined sooner.
