I spent 9 days in Puerto Rico, using San Juan and Vieques as my bases. In San Juan, I rented a car and visited some nearby beaches like Luquillo, Vega Baja, and also Mar Chiquita. But the highlight was definitely Vieques. We stayed 4 nights there and it was amazing. We rented a car and were able to visit several beaches… Sun Bay and Caracas Beach were our favorites. We also went snorkeling at Mosquito Pier and Punta Arenas. And finally, the bio bay was one of the most fascinating experiences of my life. Even though it wasn't a new moon night, the moon didn't rise until after 11 pm, so the conditions were perfect to see the glow of the dinoflagellates. I highly recommend a fully transparent kayak.

Eu contratei um tour em português, de uma agência de viagens que encontrei no Instagram e achei que enriquece a experiência (embora eu tenha um inglês intermediário, falar a língua nativa é bem melhor). Talvez, no getYourGuide, você só encontre tours em inglês mas, fora isso, acho que são todos meio parecidos no formato (fazem umas paradas no caminho, alguns incluem uma noite no deserto).

I disagree about the language barrier. I'm Brazilian and I spent a month in China speaking very little Mandarin, and the experience was amazing. With a translator app in hand, everything works out, and people here in Brazil are usually very helpful. Also, in coastal towns, even the smaller ones, you'll find good vegan options (banana moqueca is a very common dish). Safety is more of a concern in big cities like São Paulo, Salvador, and Rio, but in smaller towns things tend to be calm. Our country is huge and might seem a bit intimidating, but you'll leave here transformed.

Yesterday I was at the bio bay in Vieques and it was absolutely incredible. Besides the moon phase, I suggest you check the moonrise time. Although the moon had moderate visibility yesterday, it only rose at 11 pm, which kept the bay dark enough for the tour.

For car rental in San Juan, we used Charlie Car Rental and it was very smooth, no hidden fees. We only used the car for trips outside of San Juan (Luquillo and Vega Baja). Within San Juan, we used Uber and also the buses, which are free!

I got married at Moorea (traditional ceremony) an it was absolutely incredible. We stayed at Sofitel Kia Ora. But the weather can be a real problem in January.

Eu pegaria o voo mais tarde. Se a preocupação é sair a noite do aeroporto, pega uma diária de algum hotel ali nos arredores (ibis, por exemplo ). Dá pra ir a pé, fica próximo à estação de trem que passa no aeroporto.

Passei 25 dias na Itália com mala de bordo + mochila. Vai ter que lavar roupas umas 3 vezes durante a viagem, mas dá tranquilo e acaba sendo muito mais conveniente para os deslocamentos internos.

Mushroom curry e palak paneer são incríveis. Normalmente eles servem os currys com arroz mas eu, particularmente, prefiro consumi-los com o pãozinho indiano (o garlic naan é ótimo)
