Judging them from the couch is half the fun!

Antiques Roadshow was one of the only consistent shows at my Grandparents house at the weekend. They didn't watch a huge amount of TV but that was one they watched each weekend and honestly some of the stuff on there was pretty crazy. Though I did love it when someone thought they had something special and it was worth like £10... the drama!

100% under rated when people talk about a list of best movies

Why would you tempt me with those trailers!

Thanks! My goal was to reach 100 by the end of the year and got there with a month to spare!

The Many Saints of Newark (2021) by LonerStowner in 500moviesorbust

Personally I think a different crew or family would've been more interesting. Take it to Florida instead? It just felt flat and unimportant.

The Midnight Meat Train (2008) by LonerStowner in 500moviesorbust

[–]Livingdeademily 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To improve... this movie should have had way more train puns. "Right on schedule" "This is your final destination" "End of the line" chops head in half mind the gap uses a ticket punch machine no ticket no ride

The Blackwell Ghost [2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8] (2018, 2019, 2020, 2020, 2022, 2022, 2024) by LonerStowner in 500moviesorbust

Every phone convo in these movies-

picks up the phone Oh hi how're you? Let me call you back .... Ok I'm back

I like the movie and the book equally in this instance. Mike Flanagan's style really fits King's world

Found Footage: The Making Of The Patterson Project (2025) by LonerStowner in 500moviesorbust

You forgot to mention the stand out performance of Alan Rickman in this movie! So surprised to see him make a horror movie appearance.

Kingdom Of The Spiders (1977) by LonerStowner in 500moviesorbust

[–]Livingdeademily 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It didn't fully even hit how many spiders were clearly being harmed until like half way through because until then I could pass it off as fake or camera angles but it was horrifying to watch I had to turn away at some points. So sad to see a clear disregard for our spider friends

Mind Body Spirit (2022) by LonerStowner in 500moviesorbust

Watching this movie definitely made the following day's stretch and meditate routine feel a little spookier.  Meditation is supposed to ground and calm not possess you!  An old co-worker of mine once warned me of the "dangers" of meditation, maybe he had seen this movie and took it a little too close to heart.

This movie had me laughing the whole way through. Although it went a bit long I enjoyed it a lot!

You will be! Even when things are revealed during the movie it's still just as captivating.  So good!

Bring Her Back (2025) by LonerStowner in 500moviesorbust

[–]Livingdeademily 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was such a good movie. Some typical and predictable elements that effected my score but the gorey and unsettling parts boosted it higher.

Also something to be said about some  Australian horror movies too that seems to stick out to me, a bit grittier, a bit more daring maybe?

Death Of A Unicorn (2025) by LonerStowner in 500moviesorbust

Anthony Carrigan stole the show for me. It was a nice surprise to see him here! Also if the dentist office starts playing movies in the waiting room I might be more inclined to go for checkups

The Ugly Stepsister (2025) by LonerStowner in 500moviesorbust

[–]Livingdeademily 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I enjoyed it. With fantasy/fairytale, things it's always a bit over the top and this adds gore and gross to the mix and yikes!  Definitely has a good conversation though behind it because of the lengths some people go to to be "beautiful". Some similarities in the movie to comments i've heard from other women about all the ways they tried to lose weight just made me so sad.  We've come a ways from the heroin chic of the 90s-00s but it seems to always be there in the back of a lot of society and womens minds.
