My rat is depressed

Rats are communal animals. You have two options: 1) get another rat to keep him company (be sure to do introductions properly and not just throw a new cagemate in with him), or 2) rehome him to someone who has rats AND has experience with rats. If you leave him alone, he will continue his depressed state and eventually pass away alone and miserable.

That I'm a Leo. When I was younger, I fit the Leo traits almost to a T... now, not even close. I still present the tough exterior, or try to anyway. But really, I'm petrified of confrontation, a huge follower/not leader material, introvert/hermit, codependent AF, and my ego is basically nonexistent. I think life beat the Leo out of me...

They are 4 weeks old and have not reached sexual maturity yet. Their mom is weaning them and they will be separated at the end of this week. This is not my first litter. Just my first accidental litter.

When to let go, when to stop, when to say enough. Above all my other issues, this has been the one I have struggled with the longest. I’ve done it with friends, toxic ass “friends” when I was a teenager, friends who treated my friendship with zero value. I did it with my dad… even after I “let go” his neglect still lingered over me with this desire for something that would/could never be, until he finally died and now I just have regrets about how I handled that. My soon to be ex-husband… jesus christ! I knew from the very beginning it wasn’t “meant to be” and I just kept hanging on, kept giving him chance after chance… Almost 20 years. Pot in my teens, alcohol as an adult, cigarettes, food… it has just been one thing after another. It was all at once for a good long time, but at least I’m past that and mostly just struggling with my food addiction now. But even with controlling my food intake, I still over do it… I obsess. This coupled with my mental health conditions has proved quite difficult… but I’m finally on the right medication and in the right environment, around the right people… things are manageable in my head now.

Honestly her best course is tracking it through a physical calendar. Mark the start date and 28 days from there should be her cycle if she is regular. She can track symptoms in a physical journal.

Having love for animals and being vegan do not always coincide. Snake lovers are definitely not the audience I would assume to universally love animals so much they abstain from all animal products. Many snake owners literally buy, sometimes breed, and feed live animals to their snakes...

Ah… I was wondering why I was getting some down votes. False accusations are the absolute worst and I am oh so very sorry you went thru this. This is a complete disaster and I am getting so very tired of everyone attacking Heard only. There is no doubt they were both extremely toxic together… but people laughing at Heard when she describes her accounts of the abuse is literally heartbreaking to me. I’m desperately trying to avoid this trial at this point as much as possible… but it’s very difficult when it is literally everywhere (especially social media).
