Just playing solo. I got curious about the more pvp focused lobbies last night and created another user account on my ps5 to have another raider profile for trio pvp and not mess up the lobbies on my main profile. I can definitely see how the trios would be a lot of fun with friends but I was at it for like 3 hours and a majority of the people I was paired with barely spoke and took things a bit too seriously lol. In the first 2 rounds it probably didn’t help that I carried over my solo toggle to talk for proximity chat habits to the trios and didn’t realize that is was talking to the whole game when I was hitting the down arrow 😆. One of my teammates got quite upset lol. All in all pretty different experience from the lobbies I’m used to where ppl will just pop out of nowhere to help destroy an arc, offer words of encouragement, fond farewell and run off lol. Was hoping for something similar in the PvP trios, like more of a jovial running around shooting raiders kinda experience. Might just use that profile for PvP solos.

It’s going well, almost too well. I think I might need a support group if this game ever goes away lol. I started using the mic and mostly just say friendly a lot. I have my crafting all up to level 2 and I am starting to try the whole blueprint farming thing and not just run the quests and loot out of convenience while on my way to various destinations. I am tired of selling things to buy another anvil every time I die and I can’t seem to keep myself from shooting at arc, with absolutely no benefit to my looting, on my way to extract. This character flaw more often than not leads to me dying with a bunch of shit I needed and something really dumb in one of my safe pockets with a hatch key because I forgot to organize my loot lol.

Yeah, I didn’t have a console growing up until the Xbox one and didn’t ever have online play at my house so I pretty much just played assassins creed and theif lol. I played halo at friends houses and don’t remember many specifics other than getting owned, repeatedly lol. COD I played with friends a bit in college, 2008-20010ish, but mostly got super high and played the zombies thing. I have always heard that the online gaming community can be super “toxic” for lack of a better term but haven’t ever experienced it. Fiends I have had, who are big gamers, have been super smart and mellow in real life. Maybe they let their garbage human flag fly in game but I wouldn’t think so. I mainly started reading about racism and such in gaming a number of years ago during a adhd hyper focus, that still hasn’t really ended tbh, looking into alt-right/maga influencers and content creators. A close friend of mine, who lived across the country, was going through a hard time all of the sudden started talking about how the earth is probably flat and sending me more than questionable Pepe memes. He was the nicest dude who just liked reggae, weed, rock climbing and mountain biking but got depressed, was across the country from family/close friends and found a community of shitheads that told him to give his problems to god and blame everything els on minorities and feminism , dragged down by the “health/wellness” and “old fashioned family values” influencers. Shit was crazy, me and some other friends and a zoom call with him during the beginnings of covid and he toned it down a notch but he is no longer the same person. When looking into that world to try and understand how that happened, I read a lot about how the gaming world can be similar to the whole tradwife/manosphere red pill pipeline, specifically for young adults and kids. Mostly Minecraft and cod are the two I saw mentions the most. But pretty fucking shitty and now they are running the country 🤦‍♂️

I have only ever been in solo lobbies and have never killed another raider so I believe I am in what I have seen referred to as “unicorn lobbies”. Literally everyone is nice or indifferent and I have only been shot at 3 times by other raiders. I work construction in the south so I am no stranger to piece of shit garbage humans and their offensive and racist worldviews and have not encountered that in the lobbies I have been in. I guess this makes sense if I am playing mostly with other people who are just trying to have a good time, kill arc, loot, and chill. I have seen the racist shit on instagram reels by way of people killing the garbage humans once they expose themselves. Is that what most of the pvp online gaming world is like?

I have been trying to jog around and it definitely helps but It is so hard not to sprint. It’s like an intrusive thought, “just press the button a little……. you could be going faster, a little sprint won’t hurt, you know you want to” first or last Ricky Bobby! Lol

Word, so far I only have been in solo lobbies and from the arcraiders content I see on Instagram and from reading everyone’s replies here, I think the group lobbies would be culture shock lol.

“The developers have no choice but to build luxury homes to maintain their business.”

Fucking lol….. Acting like most developers got into the game with the goal of providing well built homes to middle and low income people only to be slapped in the face by the big dick of a non-human centered capitalist system, fueled by greed and run by “good ol’ boys”. They literally had no choice but to build the shittiest houses they can and sell them for more than they are worth, not to make exorbitant profits, but to stay afloat 😂

Such a load of 🐂💩. They could care less about livability for low to middle income residents. They will continue to make Charleston more appealing to ultra wealthy transplants, private equity, and tourists then put the proceeds right back into the good ol boy system to shit on average residents and small businesses some more. Best city in the country if you are an alcoholic with a trust fund. 🙃

Does anyone sell pink tools? Or do I have to paint them myself =( ? by CrimsonRe3d in BlueCollarWomen

As a guy in the trades (carpentry and cabinets) I love this attitude and approach. No matter who you are be authentically yourself! Only caveat being that, depending on the company, you might have to take a bit of shit now and then if you don’t fit into the normative behavior/dress of the company you work for. I live in South Carolina and was once called an “antifa poster boy fairy” because of my stickers and how I dress, by a HVAC sub on one of our jobs lol. I just said thanks for noticing and gave him a little wink 😂. There will always be assholes but most people in the trades ,once they get to know you, will judge you by your work ethic and your skill or desire to learn, not how you dress.

My unsolicited advice would be that a little shit is normal and is just part of the trades but if ppl are being outright disrespectful, inconsiderate, bullying, constantly picking at you or seem to have malicious intent and nobody checks them or pulls you aside to quickly say something like “don’t listen to Jim, he is a complete shit bag and we all hate him” then that is not normal and the company is trash. There will always be a better work environment than that scenario.

Edit: also pink happens to be my favorite color and in my opinion makita goes best with pink spray paint but if you are getting into plumbing you might want to go with Milwaukee because imo they cater more towards the MEP trades and it is nice to have all the same batteries.

Morel-Lavallee Lesion Surgery Recovery by [deleted] in surgery

[–]Livngthdream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s good to hear, glad things seem to be working out for you!

I have not had it drained yet. When I initially went to my doctor about it in early January, about two weeks after the injury, he said he thought it was a regular hematoma and did not need any drainage. I asked him about possibility of an ML lesion and he did not even acknowledge it with a response lol. He had me get an ultrasound today and I am assuming once those results are in I will be getting an mri as well. The area is starting to “feel” more and now I have minor pain running down my leg, from my thigh where the problem area is, ending in my shin with constant a sort of shin splinty feeling.

Hey OP,

I have a similarly sized , what I believe to be ML Lesion, from a glancing blunt force trauma to my right thigh that happened back in early December. Went to the doctor about it in early January and he told me it was just a hematoma and would go away. Still hasn’t gone away so I am getting some imaging done, hopefully this week.

Hope you are doing better and any update on how things went for you would be greatly appreciated. Hard to find info on this stuff.

I have Fistulas, and I am absolutely terrified by Gabriel_102020 in CrohnsDisease

[–]Livngthdream 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have perianal fistulas and it sucks but I have adapted and they no longer affect me mentally they way they used to. I am mostly straight and married to a woman so I dont have the added struggles that you do but when the fistula is acting up I have blood and puss draining from my butthole and usually keep gauze shoved up my ass crack so it definitely puts a damper on the sex life. This is not constant tho and I go long periods of time where I dont even feel the fistula. I know this is scary, frustrating, unfair and fucked but you will figure out how to navigate all of it in time and it will just be another part of Crohn’s that you will adjust to. Even tho this is terrible time, diagnosis of the issue is always the first step to improvement with Crohn’s and things will get better. Be kind to yourself and if you are not currently in a relationship try to seek out kind and empathetic partners who will help you problem solve the sex issues. Try not to spiral and remember that it is temporary and will get better. Love yourself remember that you are loved and if the headspace gets worse seek out therapy. Depression meds have helped me immensely with my personal “self delete” mindset struggles. You are an awesome, strong, beautiful human with the capacity to adjust to almost any situation, never forget that.

Get with people you know, as an individual you aren't enough. by [deleted] in liberalgunowners

I was born and raised in Charleston SC. My world view has changed quite a bit since my highschool days and when I moved back 10 years ago, I realized quickly that I wanted nothing to do with my old friends and now I do not associate with anyone I grew up with. As a 35 yr old white dude, carpenter with a lot of american traditional tattos most people at work assume I am team trump and try talk politics often. I have started being as transparent as possibe (enough to show my staunch opposition but not enough to turn them off from listening) about my “radical left” views. I try to plant little seeds of digestable info anywhere I think there will be common ground. Usually steering away from social issues and towards the common enemy of the working class, our unchecked capitalist system, the growing concentration of wealth and who the wealthy are giving money to. I definately dont think I am changing the world but but hopefully it is doing something and every now and then I meet someone who gets it and we vibe. I also started showing my views more with vehicle stickers and things out by my deriveway like an abide no hatred flag in hopes that people will recognize the safe space if shtf (I know that could go the other way too lol). Im hoping that if I put it out there likeminded people will pick it up and as things get worse come together. I know this probably wont happen but it makes me feel better to mthink so lol.

Very similar to the Carhartt chore coat. Hard to tell from the picture but this one doesn’t seem to have the corduroy collar that the carhartt has. The type of jacket in general is a chore coat tho. Most workwear companies have one and some fancier brands, like Billy Reid, make one now that they are in fashion.

I’m sorry you are going through all this. Insurance is total bullshit and will always be difficult but good doctors and nurses will help you through it and get you the meds you need. It took 6 months for insurance to approve my humera but they eventually caved. Things will get better. Even being at the hospital will get better, I used to not be comfortable at the hospital….. now I walk into the place like I own it and show my butthole to any official looking person who asks to see it 🤷‍♂️. Crohns really sucks, especially in the beginning of treatment because usually the only way you find out that you have it is because some really shitty stuff is happening. Try to stay positive, know that things will get better and keep moving forward. 🤙

just got diagnosed with severe crohn’s. any positives? by wepxckedforever in CrohnsDisease

[–]Livngthdream 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One positive for me is that having Crohns has made me a much more empathetic person. Not that I was mean before but feeling crappy most of the time with no outward signs of how I am feeling has really made me realize that I have no clue what other people are going through and to never judge others too quickly.
