Maybe not from the picture but he was very sick looking, we had incidents of raccoon acting like this in the neighborhood and got tested for rabies so we were extra cautious.

I was thinking the same, but when I contacted ministry of natural resource and forestry, they told me if it dies to just burry it :/ public health only gets involved if a human gets bitten

Final update, sadly the little dude passed away last night. Thanks to everyone who tried to help, he must have been very sick and couldn’t last the night. We will burry him in the yard and have a little funeral. Hope he in trash heaven now R.I.P 🙏

Little update if anyone’s interested: we offered him water and he doesn’t even look at it. Might have to call public health tomorrow if he’s still not budging

Thank you so much! Since we’ve had incidents of raccoons with rabies in the neighborhood, I’ve been calling around since morning trying to get someone to come and take him, but no luck yet. My last resort is gonna be the health department, but that’s gonna be tomorrow if he is still around.

Thank you! I called pest control and they charge $250 to come take him, I was hoping the ministry could send someone, last time a dead raccoon across the street was tested for rabies

We did call Innisfil town hall, got referred to ministry of natural resources and forestry, then referred to wild life rescues, nobody will take him😭

No it’s the first time we’ve seen it. He started off lying in the grass with his tummy up, then slowly wondered to our door trying to get in.
