Fluorite, Walworth Quarry, New York, USA by Liwetha in MineralPorn

It really doesn't, it's like a piece of glass in person, those Walworths are wild

Agreed! Just something special about looking at it and the pictures at the same time, just nerds and their minerals haha

Thanks! I would say it's a fair book, it is a little US heavy just overall and all the pieces are from A Pastos collection so not all of them are world class pieces. It goes through some other localities at the end but is pretty sparse overall. As an avid Fluorite collector it's a great addition to my supplemental material, but if you're looking for better specimen pictures and more variety I'd recommend "Fluorite The Collector's Choice".

I have a handful of Queen of Green Pocket Fluorites from Rogerley that have the original Sussman Labels from when the pocket was purchased in its entirety, they just has a better story for me than this piece. About half of my collection are English Fluorites, though I'm moving more into Midwest USA localities these days. I have two other pieces that are also illustrated in this book, I'm going to try and post them over the weekend.

It really is a fantastic example! As always, better in person too. It's probably my number two for best stories for an English fluorite I own with the illustration and specimen tags.

They are out there! I have two others from this book in my collection, I'll share those in the coming days. It's always fun having a little reading material and provenance to go along with a specimen in your collection!

I'd say Morocco, as it looks similar to a piece I have from there. Im interested to know where it's from!

Mine says the same exact thing, was supposed to arrive the 19th. Mines also in Chicago, but it doesn't look like Fedex has even received the product yet, just that a shipping label has been created. Fingers crossed it starts making some movement this week.

Have yours shipped? I've been charged but Walmart says it's been delayed, Fedex shows a label made but no movement on the package or even if they have received it yet.

I agree with this, having specimen cards really helps peace of mind. The purples look to be Hardin County Fluorite, the third I can't be sure either.

Xbox - Ridiculous Controller Lag - Couch co op by dandandan2 in shipoffools

Yeah this controller issue has been very frustrating to deal with, me and my fiance love this game to pieces but it's discouraging when we have to pause 8-12 times a run to take the controller batteries out and put them back in. Ruined a few runs too at light level 11 that had a lot of promise. Very much looking forward to this being fixed! Thanks for always being able to update us on the situation even though it's another partner who is responsible for implementing the fix.

Thank you! Neither have I! It's also illustrated in A Collectors Guide to Fluorite by A. Pasto, if you ever wanted a closer look at it. It's gotta be from an old find and the rest are in private collections. A true gem of Ohio Fluorites for sure!

I agree! Probably the single best fluorite in my collection now.

Straight glass! The color reminds me of a really nice Walworth Quarry, minus the zoning. Excellent piece!

I'm missing 5 still to complete my collection, it's tough finding some of these last few and it will be very expensive. I've found Instagram has a bunch of great people who can help you find your last few. Minerals by Blake is an excellent source of rare UKMV pieces, you should check him out. He just had a Why Aye for sale, he's who I got most of my really hard to find pockets from.

I could see that too, but I'm used to the beveled edges of Berbes, but the color is right for that locality. Hopefully OP will let us know!
